Question about starting zone

I just started a new toon and started off in Glenumbra in Daggerfall. What I'm confused by is that my first quest out of the gate is to go to Stros M'Kai which seems to be a whole starting zone of it's own. Do I stay in Glenumbra or go to Stros M'Kai and do those quests? Is this up to me to decide or is there a logical order to do the quests between the two areas?

Thanks

Go to Stros M'Kai. Do it. But first stop at the fighters guild and join it and joing the mages guild.

During the beta some people whinged that they didn't want to be forced to do the starter zone. These are the same folk who enjoy power leveling to level 50 in 17 hours. Anyway the devs listened to them and now drop everyone in the first main city with just that quest giver pointing back to the original actual starter zone. Which for Daggerfall Alliance is Stros M'Kai.

You will benefit from it because when you finish that and the next island you will be around level 8 or 9. What otherwise appears to happen to people who skip it and don't just grind levels to compensate is that they wind up under level somewhere in the next zone.

It was reconfigured because the initial starting zone would not allow the player to leave unless you completed the quest. That removed the aspect of being able to go anywhere and do anything that was the staple of the TES series.

It had nothing to do with powerleveling. It was confining the player to linear gameplay and essentially removing the open word it was sold on.
Words contained in posts, at which point I stop reading and will not respond...
Toon / Mana / WoW or any acronym following "In ___" /
Pets (when referring to summoned Daedra) / Any verbiage to express slang (ie, ending in uz,az,..) / Soul Stone
    ... to be continued.

    Now, get off my lawn.
