No.You will not get your money back.If you feed your horse for 30 It probably is better then the 47k horse anyway so you would want to keep the old one also. You can own more then one horse so there is no reason to sell your original horse.

Maybe In the future there will be a lot more mounts and you will need the stable space. At the moment sealing the 17k horse gives you 1.7K back regardless of of how much you upgraded it.

To rip you off in-game of course, what else.

I can't speak about 17k horses but a lvl 30 imperial horse still is sold for 1 gold. I suggest you to not waste your money if you want the 42k horse wait and grind for it. Even if you can get some money back it should not be too much; just watch the buy/sell ratios for other stuff.

It's a fair idea to have two. Have one that you pour lots into speed and stamina, and another with a fair amount of bag space. Use one for normal usage, then switch to the fast/tough horse for roaming around Cyrodil in PVP.

I found the Imperial Horse does just fine for going around questing, storage and speed. Pestilences (Name of horse) is 35S/17Stam/1Storage. However I am thinking of doing a 50/25/25 split when he hits level 100 (I believe that's the hard cap for horses at present) If not I'd just level him up to 100/100/100 lol yes it takes time and probably isn't cost efficient but I don't need a Carry or other horse for 42K etc

The 42k horses are just there if you have tons of money and you really want to min max a mount or really like the color. The simple and imperial horses do just fine if you upgrade them for what you want. At this point I would need 15 days to get the fast horse to be as fast as my simple horse is now.

The 42K horse has a higher cap. So if you level a 17k horse to max level, and a 42k horse to max level, the 42k horse will be better.

Ironically, the basic brown horse is probably the second rarest in-game mount (after the carrying mount). The stat difference isn't really material - sure you get slightly more max carrying, speed or stamina with a more expensive horse, but it doesn't really make much difference. It really doesn't in 90% of cases. If I were you I'd pick the one you like the look of, and focus on levelling it up. Once you have plenty of dosh later in game, you can always get another. I bought my first $42.7K mount in the early 30s - didn't take more than 3-4 days of casual play to earn enough to buy it. Just sell everything you loot and the money comes quickly at the mid-level of the game.

Wait a minute...(Noob alert here!!). I bought the imperial edition so I'll get the white horse when I reach level 10. Now I'm hearing you have to feed it and level it etc. Can someone point me to a website that explains all this in detail pretty please?

I got the Imperial Edition and got my white horse with the first gold piece I had.

If you want to improve your horse - feed it according to the way you want it to improve.

So far, not feeding it does not mean the horse starves to death,
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

You don't need to wait til 10. Go to the stable and buy your Imp horse for 1 gold now. It's pretty easy to understand. Can pay to feed it once every 24 hrs one of 3 materials. Each material permanently buffs the horses speed, stamina or storage. No real guide needed.

You can feed all horses not just the imperial one. You aren't required to but feeding it 'levels' up the horse and lets you increase by 1 carrying capacity, stamina, or speed to a maximum total increase of 50.

The white horse is 1 gold at the stables and can be bought at any time. It is other than color and cost identical to the 17K horse.

The 42K horses all have 1 stat that is 10 higher than the 17K or Imperial horse.

Horses are capped at lvl 50. The Imperial horse starts out with 15/10/0, with 50 points to invest. You'll be 25 points short of getting 50/25/25.

My Witch's horse is a 30 20 0 now. Nice horse and fast. Raised her from a 1g Imperial.
