Hey all I was scrolling through YouTube and found this, this is clearly a high isles pic, and some other company is using it for their advertising on YouTube of all places.

Report them to Youtube and/or contact ZOS support to let them know about the copyright violation.

This has been going on for years, probably longer than ESO has been around. Every few months I get adverts on Facebook for some game I've never heard of which is obviously using stolen art. Sometimes it's a hilariously mis-matched photoshop, like WoW characters in ESO's menus next to a screenshot of scenery from GW2. It should be obvious even to people who don't play any of those games it's fake because there's no consistency in the art style, but I assume they don't care even that much.

(The funny part is I'm pretty sure Facebook's algorithm knows I'm a woman but I still get the ones with tag lines like "don't let your girlfriend see this game!")

If for some reason you decided to play one and you're lucky it's just a badly made "free" to play game, likely a mobile port and cluttered with adverts and prompts to spend money. If you're unlucky it's spyware or a trojan horse or something. (I haven't tried any myself but I did read a couple of articles when I wondered why this keeps happening.)

Hi All. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We'll handle it for our end as well. The only other thing I would suggest is report the ad to YouTube.

For real though: don't let your girlfriend see that you are playing high isle, as she might get jealous of Isobel's eyebrows.

I use Firefox with an ad blocker while on YouTube. I don't see any of that stuff.

Also games copying off of others' games is a problem among most of the online gaming industry because people either have difficulty coming up with ideas of their own and/or they are all following the trends. In other cases it's clickbait, phishing, or a scam.

Yes, I have seen this issue with many other online games. I'm well aware of this issue.

Yeah, some of these random knock-off games are hilariously eye-rolling with their ads. Saw one the other day for some kind of Horse Owner Simulator type of game that ripped all the advertising graphics straight from Red Dead Redemption 2.

    Like, come on. LOL

I remember there was a game that straight up stole the assets of Age of Empires 2. It also had ridiculous adult-themed ads.

Not sure anything was ever done about the stolen assets.

It's a mobile game and it's rampant like this in there. Even if you strike them they will just resurface with a different name or rip other game's assets.
