Went from 49 to VR1 - is there no level 50?

Started the final quest line for DC as a lowish 48 yesterday, and completed as a lowish 49. Went to the next faction's starter zone (AD) and quested a bit, and before I knew it I was VR1 - and had skipped level 50 completely. Is there no level 50? Or do you just bypass level 50 if you do what I did? Find it odd in that I was granted level 50 quest rewards, and can craft level 50 gear, but the level escaped me completely. Thoughts?

    VR1 is level 50.

Any gear that's marked as level 50 instead of VR1 is an artifact from when they were two separate levels (the PTS testers are the only ones who experienced that).

I see - thanks. Odd that the game is still issuing level 50 quest rewards, then! And odd that I can craft level 50 gear too!

It is odd, and they may fix it at some point. But anything marked level 50 really is just a leftover.

    Because:
    VR1 is level 50.

Any gear that's marked as level 50 instead of VR1 is an artifact from when they were two separate levels (the PTS testers are the only ones who experienced that).

I suppose on advantage of leaving it in is that players can decide whether they want to wear silver-tinted armor as a VR1 or gold-tinted armor of a 50 (assuming level 50 is the same gold color as 48 - which may be an erroneous assumption).

That's true; they will be different styles. I think that there is a significant disadvantage to 50 gear though, in that VR1-3 glyphs are better.
