I am leaving Playstation EU for PS NA because our Cyrodiil is broken, empty and boring. Maintenance in July/August killed it and everyone is leaving, or has already left. Gray Host on PS NA works better for european players when it's full, than the EU server when it's empty.

Now i have millions of gold on this useless server, after playing this game for many years, and can not even buy flowers to level my alchemy on NA server. I have to level up all my characters again, farm a lot of gear again and build up everything from scratch. Even my houses are gone. I can't even make an imperial character now without buying crowns again... I just want to play PvP, but technology does not let me. I do not care about dungeons, quests and flowerfarming anymore. Why does it have to be this way?

Technical reasons. You're free to spend a couple thousand dollars to get to the point where you left on PS though.

Unless they itemize the technical reasons I'm not inclined to believe that.

Truth is, there's likely different contracts with different platforms. I'm not too sure why EU-US on same platform can't be transferred for something like a crown fee, but when we're talking PSN to XBOX or PSN to PC we run into some balancing issues as well, since bots are allowed to run rampant on the console platforms but are well controlled on PC.

Nevertheless, if an itemized list can't be provided, it's probably something much simpler (like the contracts prohibiting it).

People have found ways to grind out levels quite quickly if you have the time and it's a double EXP event. I recommend utilizing the current one while you can, fortunately ESO+ is cross-platform, but I personally wouldn't support them offering console transfers unless it was just the CP/levels due to how rampant the botting is, and how it affects everyone there.

I thought about giving my gold away on EU server if someone could give me gold on NA server in return. At least a few hundred thousand to get started. But every time i ask this in a guild chat they are mean to me and kick me. At least on NA. So before i do something wrong i wanted to ask if this is even allowed. Should be fine, because it is just ingame money for ingame money. Right? And if i give the gold first, all the risk is on my side.

ZOS have made it very clear that the technical reason server transfers can't happen is because they don't have the coding to enable adding developed characters to an already populated server database, and don't intend to devote the extensive resources required to enable it. You won't find many players on the PC servers who'd want it risked either, the resulting damage to the existing character database on those servers could be massive if it went even slightly awry, and PC players have enough performance problems as it is without making it easier for console players to move across and boost the server populations exponentially.

When the console versions opened they were able to transfer PC accounts as a one--off because the console servers were empty. This is also why the character copies to the PTS are only for one regional database at a time, it has to be wiped inbetween.

In the case of cross-platform transfers it is also generally believed that there are contractual restrictions designed to prevent one platform provider from poaching accounts from another platform provider. Of course ZOS will never disclose confidential contract terms but it makes sense commercially.

I'm with you. I've been playing for 8 years and I'm about to move to another continent. 250 million gold, 9 characters, almost all motifs, tens of thousands crowns to spend for collections. All this will have to leave and start over.
ZoS transfers characters from the EU to the PTS four times a year, which is located in America. And I don't understand why it's not possible for live servers. Is there any way to just copy the character? At least give all the things from the crowns of the store that you have left on another server? Oh... But I don't despair. Truth.

I've traded gold across PC servers with a couple of people over the years. Millions in one case. We hooked up on this forum, set it up in PMs, and met to do the trade. Nothing was ever said about it by CS or anyone else. Perhaps people are a bit stickier about it on console? I don't know of course as I've never owned a console, so no experience of gameplay there.

Why do you feel you can't play in your new area? I'm in NA and play on both NA and EU servers.
It has been explained numerous times why transferring to an empty PTS instance is not even remotely the same as merging into a live database.

Still, it's moot. Theres's zero reason you can't continue to play on your current server.

Ping. I am a high-end player and responsiveness and comfort are important to me. I would like to restore the old style of my game. Right now, my EU ping is 116-142. Sometimes 164 under load. But even if in America my ping will not be very different, then I don’t think it makes sense to refuse to play with a ping of 60-90.

Merging EU and NA would be terrific for Cyrodiil.

If your goal is CP pvp starting over is pretty brutal, you need 1000-1200CP not to be at a serious disadvantage. If the rest of the game doesn't interest you I cant imagine it would be worth it just for Cyrodiil.

That's coming from someone who switched servers at the start of the year. I've mostly enjoyed it. But I actually like pve as well as pvp.

    @Lebkuchen ...

what would be really nice is if there were some good cross-server guilds...

I started on the Playstation NA server but started new toons on the EU server during the Summerset event...

do not get discouraged- but, starting over in the new server will leave you a little vulnerable in cyrodiil for a couple of years...

doesn't mean you can't have fun, just means you won't have any champion points helping your sub-50 toon fight...

I'll be honest, I had a blast starting over on the EU server...

did a lot of leveling in battlegrounds (quicker XP gain)...

is your name the same in the game?

I can send you some gold and stuff to help you get going...

if you're a cyrodiil enthusiast - it is one million percent worth having the option to pvp on each server...

in the next year or so - the situation between the EU and NA servers will probably swap :)

i have 10 toons on the EU server set and ready for pvp...started 7 new toons on the EU server (they're a few years old now)...

even without any champion points, battle scaling will help you compete in cyrodiil...

if you build as tanky as possible and set yourself with some aoe damage skills - you'll be fine in cyrodiil...

I mean it's pretty easy. Go out to Alikir stand at a dolmen few hours boom 50. Spend maybe 100$ US and you can benough skyshard zones to fill in everything you need. So it's actually the easiest of any game I know to start over.

You can buy absolutely nothing at all when you start over. All skyshards or skill lines need to be completed by one character on the same account before they can be bought on a different character, not a different account. Nothing easy about starting over whatsoever.

Zos can manually add and remove things from our account, so technically zos can transfer our characters across servers, but it wouldn't be a simple copy/paste as they'd have to manually remake your character and put every skill, skillpoint, and item in. That would take a bit of work, which is why they won't do it.

More and more players from Playstation EU are popping up on NA. Maybe that's why the performance is getting worse. Especially on weekends. At least now i can decide if i want to play on a laggy empty EU server, or on a laggy full NA server. My mount is slow, my pockets are empty, and i am still farming gear. But it was worth it. I guess. Still don't understand why it has to be this complicated.
