EDIT: As mentioned thanks to the good people commenting here the timer stops at the last light so the matter of shortest way to the quest giver at the end is moot.

Eventually ..

So I started from the right/good fire this time, the most western 1:

.. shorter finish way from 4 back to the quest giver of course.

To be sure I went full nuclear with: 5 low level pieces of Adept Rider set, all medium armor + passive skill, Champion Points .. not sure if necessary but did not want to spend time testing.

That's the way I've been doing this myself since I went there for the first time.

Some time ago I noticed that the timer stops when you light the fourth signal fire. so the way back to the quest giver shouldn't really matter.

In case it helps anyone else: you can actually start running ~3/4ths of the way through the ‘light’ animation, you don’t have to wait for it to complete to get credit for the beacon.

Also, equip Rapid Maneuver and its relatives from the Alliance War skill line if you have it.

Just a thought 4 then 3 is quicker and the timer stops when the last brazier is lighted.

i usually always did 3->4->2->1 (based on your numbering) and i could do it even on a regular character sprinting and no other specific gear changes (even on mag toons that had slow sprints and could run out of stam faster)

Also for those that don't have the achievement yet, if you group up with people/group, it counts for everyone at the same time. Yes, you can do it on your own. But for some people they have a lot of other stuff/things they need to get done in game and it will save them a little bit of time.

Yeah I always did 3> 4 > 1 > 2 as well. And I can get it down even on mag toons with no speed pots or skills, just by sprinting. Going from 4 to 1 means you can hop down and run almost straight to one on the diagonal, cutting the distance as compared with going 2 to 3. No idea how the current heavy passives impact that path.

Just a comment. As I recall, the timer ends with the lighting of the last brazier, not returning to the quest giver.

I actually did it a few times in the order 3, 4, 1 then 2 based on your annotated picture, and had no problems doing it that way either.

I finally remembered to finish Glory of Magnus this New Life. I was only missing mudballing royals and the belching one, I spent long time to try find a mudballable Queen Ayrenn before finding out I had already mudballed her years ago. And the other, remembering to do it.
The sprint is no prob with ring of the wild hunt and steed mundus. (And it was not a problem without.) I have not tried but npc tells you can do it in group too.

As you can clearly see on the picture above, "3" has the longest deviation from the main route, therefore it's obviously the best to start or finish with it, so you don't have to run that distance twice.
