I had a Dream - That in my house... I could have a portal to another house

Anyone else have this dream? Seriously... it would be a pretty awesome thing to have. Especially for role playing with guild members, etc! If you have multiple homes... it would be pretty awesome to have direct links to them in game. That way when people travel to your 'primary house', they can still travel to your other properties as well. It would also be cool if you had portals that linked to your friends places as well.
It doesn't seem that difficult. Why not? Sell the portals in the guild store if you must. Make a profit. I would buy them! 100%.

✭✭✭✭✭Cool idea. You could even set it up so doors go to other houses or inn rooms, and effectively circumvent the furnishing cap in "one" house. Make a whole network of connected houses. Maybe events that chain from one to the next (mazes?).4 -

That there makes it a lot less likely to happen. The /script method takes you to any house you could enter via “travel to player home”, for example, so a portal model would have to accommodate multiple locations, meaning a lot of programming effort, plus extra storage for everyone’s unique lists. ✭✭✭✭✭I imagine having connections between multiple houses in the form of a network which incorporated the furnishings would create the performance issues that the furnishing limits are designed to prevent. As it is you can already travel "magically" between your houses including a friend's primary house via the housing menu. Maybe there could be something that looks like a portal but wouldn't actually do anything so you'd still use the existing travel arrangement so it would just be a simply furnishing item.
I'd like to be able to travel to any house belonging to a friend/additional account (with the option for people to restrict it if they want to keep some houses open and others private), but I imagine that would be like the old character achievements and seemingly take up too much of the database to allow such things as card games to be added.
There's a lot more ZOS could have done with housing had they switched the staff and database resources from the card game to housing, and I do wonder which has the most supporters/Crown sales - my bet would be housing. Then again, it would be cool if they could invest in expanding fishing, that has a lot of potential too.0 -

AD_ThisIsTheWay✭✭✭If you went through one of the portals... I would still expect a loading screen. it would still technically be visiting one property at a time. So the furnishing limits would still be in place I think!
Anyway, this is just an idea. And I am sure ZOS could pull something like this off if they put the time into it. But the question is... will they?PS5 | NA0 -

✭Not this but I (and several others in the past) have asked about an in house portal/teleport the other day in housing. Step on a pad and zip to the top of a tower/secret room etc without having to build gangly stairs. Could even be crown store and no furniture plan.1 -

Or you go the list of your houses and select the one you want to go to, again inside or outside. I find that a quicker selection than the map.0 -
AD_ThisIsTheWay✭✭✭@ProudMary I think you are missing the point. We all know that we can go to the list of our houses and travel to them at anytime. Or alternatively we can use the map to find the house and travel that way.
But I'm talking about a physical furnishing that functions like a portal. This way when other players visit your house... they can travel through that portal and also visit your other properties. Currently other players are only able to travel to your primary house. So this would be a way for them to visit your other properties as well.
Also, just from a gameplay point of view... having a physical portal would be awesome! Being able to create a physical network between not only your homes, but also your friends homes... that would be so cool from a gameplay point of view and also a roleplaying point of view.
