Nothing is ever available only for seals, the system exists purely to give an in-game way to earn crown crate items (in line with Microsoft's policy on loot boxes) so the items available always exactly match what's currently available in crown crates and for gems. It also didn't exist until years after crown crates were introduced and the range of items they offer was well established, so if you think there's too many things in there your problem is really with the crates, not the endeavours.
I do not agree.
In some countries (e.g. Belgium) the crown crates are illegal because they fall under gambling. We are not able to buy crown crates in Belgium.
As a compensation the Seal of Endeavour shop was made so we still can access those items.

my problem isnt with crates
what is the point of buying crates if you can just get stuff from them in the seal shop???
you might as well put every individual thing from them up in the shop for more money that the crates so i dont have to waste money on rng..

That right there, "convenience" is why the item isn't free. You can spend a day going from 1-60 and have a new character the way you want, during one of the many double exp events. No one is really getting these shop items for free, because they are money makers.what do you mean?
my system is better for "the poors" because cosmetic options arent actually key to enjoying the game...
at least not nearly as much as the convenience of race/class tokens and things like that...
It's a business that has many people not paying for the sub. They need money to justify the infra upkeep and staff that keep the game relevant.my whole point is that the game is designed to make money but the item shop currently is very unappealing to myself and others and seals is senseless and counter-intuitive to the idea that they want to make money....
Race change 3k tokens is $25 and that's half an hour of a US based Non-FANG developers pay. Would you rather be forced to watch a 30 second advertisement every other time you zoned, if you were a F2P player? I am sure that can be implemented and wont be able to be bypassed with DNS based blocking.would be much better if they let you get things there that werent necessary but provide actually quality to the enjoyment of the game rahter than things like dlc or purely cosmetic items...
there are a healthy amount of cosmetic options in base game and im sure there will be more...
Oh, look, one more person who thinks that everyone values and enjoys same things as they doit is my personal belief that the seals of endeavor shop is basically useless to players as well as the idea that the game wants to make money selling cosmetic items....
I use those if I get some for free, but I'd never buy any. Also, there's no class change. Also, putting race change in the same pile with some basic potions?they should totally sell cosmetics for crowns and only ever put a couple of crown purchaseable items up at a time for a reasonable amount of seals in the endeavor shop.. the rest of the endeavor shop should be a rotation of dyes for outfits as well as some of the more convenience based sort of p2w items like crown potions/poisons, crown foods/drinks, xp scrolls, and race/class change tokens...
It's not because they are expensive, it's because they aren't that useful.as people have said before a lot of these items have little to no appeal when sold for crowns as it feels like a total ripoff... the items are there for convenience mainly and offer no advantage other than faster leveling or the ability to change racial passives without having to redo your character entirely....
Wait, so does level skip goes to crown store (guilds and skyshards) or to seals store (scrolls)? Where do riding lessons go? If you come up with some questionable idea, at least try to be consistent.so selling cosmetics in seal shop is no good as they make less money and putting items like that there only makes people steer away completely...
my advise would be to make the shop a plethora of cosmetic/housing options with dlc and level skip options (skyshards, guilds, etc)..
the seal shop should be the convenience shop where you spend seals to get the items like tokens and scrolls and stuff..
I hereby declare you the enemy of the players' community -_-last point is that eso plus is insanely useful AND it gives you crowns i think.. so what i would do is have it give you all dlc skill lines automatically and access to all dlc dungeons, but wont let you have access to those zones to farm resources and get the cosmetics from the story because IMO the people who paid more money deserve more perkss.. xD
It is irresponsible if you don't have a disposable income budget that doesn't harm your real life. You should be putting some money away in a retirement account before ESO.there is no reason for me to spend money on this game it would literally be irresponsible for multiple reasons...
as someone who genuinely doesnt care THAT much about power leveling when im enjoying playing a new character.
i feel that xp scrolls should be earnable and level skips purchaseable
No one said you had to pay for it. Just don't buy it. In most games you don't change your race with out a mod or cheat.idk why id have to pay 25$ to change my race in a video game.... (honestly)
Art is a one time purchase. Convenience is not and people that are in a hurry will buy it.you spend money on art for the game in the form of cosmetics and just throw them up there for free but have endless resource of earnable convenience.... just seems like poor management of resources to me..
The game makes money or it would have been shut down long ago. What do you consider competent people? You're worried about $25 lol.i think the reason that this game doesnt make money is because they dont give competent people a good reason to spend money on it..
Point? It's a subscription of reoccurring revenue.eso plus gives you access to 99% of the game with zero restriction
Where do you get this info from??even LESS players spend money in the crown store because of endeavor shop
$25 is not too much. You can spend a day remaking the character or work IRL and pay for it. Which is less of a time sink?and idek why anyone would pay for those "convenience items" when it would be so much more convenient to instant level skills and levels... 25$ is too much to pay for minor convenience...
If you're not paying for it, then it's free, for you. Most people are enjoying this with out cost. But the game is not free because it cost staff and infra to maintain and further develop. That is not free. Your free playis being subsidized by the people that use the shop and/or pay the subscription.[/quote]idk what you mean but eso is NOT a free game... that is.. if you ARENT paying for eso plus sub....
You do not have ANY of their earning numbers because ZOS is under the XBox Gaming Studios and gaming is just 3.6B and that is all of "gaming" at Microsoft. Microsoft is not required to line item every product and/or studio.i dont have all of eso's earning numbers so i cant say for sure what they are doing right and wrong but if they want to appeal more to consumers then they wouldnt put items for free that others might be paying for and wouldnt sell something that people dont really need to pay for...
Have you even looked at the credit list? That is a lot of people that are paid. Surely this is hosted in the Azure Cloud, and ZOS gets a discount on the hosting fees. Before you ask, it works like that because Azure has people to pay that maintain the physical infra and they offer support to ZOS, when and if it's needed. Azure has on-call staff supporting the infra 24/7/365. External services pay always come out of the requestors budget, and Azure is external. Put into PayScale the job title and location. Also, you can't just go by that one job title. Andrew McLeod was a Senior Systems Designer and that pay is much higher than a mid level role. No, the game isn't free.assuming you could play the entire game for less money than you would have by buying it do to eso plus then im sure money is of little concern and maybe these changes WOULDN'T kill off the game financially...
