I want a continuation of the Vestige story.

I don't like that the yearly stories have started to feel too divided. I don't like that stories ignore our nature and abilities as a soulshriven. I don't like that our immortality and the possibility of teleportation have become just game mechanics, although initially it has a lore basis. We can even resurrect our companions, namely resurrect, since it is directly written that they are dead, but we cannot resurrect plot characters. What?
When the characters of the five companions began to return to us in two chapters in a row, I hoped that we would have a new big story, like the Triad. But no... Many are waiting for Meridia as the next big antagonist. And I want to believe that this will happen when nothing happens.
Who are we now? How can we explain our immortality? Are we the chosen ones of Adamantia now? Nothing is clear... A game based on the series, which is famous for its interesting lore and setting, simply ignores this. I don't understand anything.

Yeah a continuation of the Base game story is literally all I want. And I agree, the dlcs have ignored the concept of the vestige:

Morrowind treats you like a new character regardless of what you've accomplished.

Summerset has the Psijics but there is no mention of your death by 'marco's hand. You'd think you could bring up the fact that they exiled that dude technically caused yours and thousands other's deaths. It even had Darien from the Coldharbour quest and he pretty much acts like he's never met you before (so does Razum dar).

Elsweyr has that whole thing with Cadwell, which kind of threw out a lot of what we knew about Soul Shriven. So, did we or did we not free the souls taken by Molag bal? Why is he still a Shriven, does this mean we are still Shriven? (I have my theories actually, yes I think we are). He wasn't sacrificed to Molag bal, so, WHY did he become a Shriven upon death? Are the real person and the Shriven two separate entities? Because if so that has huge implications on our character. And it's just never addressed.

But yeah super glad they're booting the year long stories.

Since the Vestige had their soul restored by Meridia in the end of the main quest, they're not technically still a soul-shriven, imo, but a rather special case of a Vestige with a soul. As for the two separate entities, you could say that, because when a person becomes a soul shriven, they transform into a husk made from azure plasm, that resembles the body, but has no soul: 'Once the soul arrives in Coldharbour, it is exchanged for an essence commonly known as the vestige. The vestige attracts to itself a shapeless but energetic material called Chaotic Creatia. In Coldharbour, this creatia takes the form of a substance known as the Azure Plasm - ubiquitous pools of blue slime.[3][6] The Azure Plasm coalesces around a vestige and forms a corporeal body with the semblance of the shape it wore in life.' (quote from UESP).

You aren't the Vestige anymore though. You regained your soul, ended the threat of Anchors and Molag Bal. There is no more story to tell. Even Varen during the quest line says the name doesn't really fit anymore.

But we still rise from the azure plasma after death and can travel through the shrines.

I never did like being a "vestige". My characters are mercenaries, always have been, in any game I've ever played. I completed the MQ twice, Cadwells Silver and Gold once, not doing any of it again.

Historically, games' main questlines aren't anything I've ever enjoyed very much. I get them all out of the way once usually (though I never did finish Oblivion even once, or the Baldur's Gate stories either), and then play my own characters' lives and stories.

I understand you. But still, lore justifications for many game mechanics are needed.

I'm with you on this. We've been denied continuation of MC's story for far too long. People who don't enjoy this kind of stuff just can skip it like they already do with base game MQ. There's plenty of independent content in ESO already.

As base game players we on the other hand were forced to participate in half of new content as nonames and very little recognition of our previous deeds. Loyalty should be rewarded.

I suppose most people feel that way.

I personally think that we are a paragon spontaneously created by Nirn to defend itself, and Molag Bal can turn anyone to shriven if he possess at least part of their souls for long enough. If that happens, it can develop it's own personality and such.

This would explain both Caldwell and the Vestige, and why we continue to be able to rez and wayshrine regardless of main quest status.

Who says the soul is in your body though? maybe your carrying it around in a soul gem.

At least the High Kings and some old NPCs acknowledge you from your past adventures together. My favourite was with the Dark Brotherhood in Blackwood.

Stibbons, Razum-Dar, Rigurt the Brash and Lyrant are very good ones as well.
