The “main” quest line, cadwells gold and silver. can we have an option to skip for new toons?

For all of us that have completed 10+ toons obviously most are for crafting unless you have different set ups for same races and classes etc then that’s fine. Also yes there are ways to get the required skill points needed for what ever purpose but I feel after the 13th toon “visiting the hooded figure” gets old but once you’ve done the 18 then obviously it’s no issue to you. But for ones that are still levelling because you took a break it would be amazing to just leave that prophet behind where he belongs.

Another issue
You create your toon skip tutorial as you’ve already done it. Then you’re dropped into dlc? Like what? Why aren’t we dropped into our main zone like before then quest as you see fit.

My main issue with cadwells good and silver and even the prophets quest is redundant now.

You spawn say in stone falls after bleakwood and bal foyen and you meet lyrics at the fighters guild and have to go to Deshaan with her BUT you have to then save her from coldharbour? This is my issue. It’s pointless for players who’s been playing since release but there is no way to abandon or skip it. Hell I’d even pay 1000 crowns just to skip it and get the minimum skill points you earn while doing it.

Sorry if this looks like word vomit I have a hard time putting my thoughts out in order.

Tl;dr abolish the prophet, abandon the main quest for new toons if you have already done it 3-4 times. Would pay for the skip and skill points.

I disagree. Sorry. This is the only main story completion that you have to do. Its not like you need to complete the entire zones just the 5ish quest per zones. Which means you get skill points for your effort. I have MANY toons that need to go through all the zones still, let alone the main story of each zone. But because I rotate between characters, it helps me see the quests through new views and get to change certain outcomes for certain quests....its fun for me and I feel for others too! I am sorry its a pain for you though.

Get what your saying but I’d rather skip it all, you have ample skill points throughout the game that don’t require you to run through each zone 100 times for all 18 toons

It's 6-11 quests per zone (for AD at least) but I've done Cadwells Silver and Gold for several chars and it's not that bad. You can almost completely skip your characters own faction zones if you want. You do not need all the skill points in gaem, there are plenty more than you need even if you decide to make every character a max level writ ready.

Maybe it’s just me then, doing the same quests over and over and over gets redundant and makes it boring and makes me not want to play

Every quest in the game is repeated over and over with each new character - maybe they should do away with questing completely, hmmm...

You know what I mean, it’s not mandatory obviously but it would be nice to not have to do it after creating all 18 toons

Why do you have to do it, though? Granted it will take a spot in the quest journal but other than that?

Then don't bother with questing. You can get 113 skill points from base game skyshards only and 60 more from chapters/dlc. Total 519 skyshards = 173 skill points according to uesp.net. And you can buy zone shards for your alt from crown store if one your chars already have found all from that zone.

That's annoying enough. This isn't Skyrim where we can toggle individual quest markers off. This isn't a feature that ruins the whole experience of ESO, but it would be so easy for the developers to fix.

Oh no, absolutely don't buy them from the crown store. Not when you can just run around and collect them. Isn't it better to waste a bit of time doing that than wasting money?

I would not pay for skyshards. But apparently some people are willing to pay money or unused crowns from sub for that.

Agree, with an earlier comment, why do you feel you have to do them? For the skill points? Because if so, you don't really need them. I have only done main/silver/gold quests on one character, but I have 15 fully playable alt characters that have never done these, and I never bought a skyshard pack either. There's plenty of easily obtainable skill points in the game: what I usually do is go through the first couple of quests in the main questline with alts because they are fast and grant points, then do some public dungeon group events that also grant points, and then gather overland skyshards while farming lore books for mages guilds.

If you're willing to pay, I suggest paying for the skyshard packs to get the skill points you desire. Incidentally, the Main Quest grants 11 skill points. ZOS sells skyshards at roughly 150 crowns per skill point, suggesting that the actual cost of skipping the main quest is more like 1650 crowns (not too bad) but we probably have to add on the Soul Magic skill line as well for an added 2-3,000 crowns. Buying the skill points from Cadwell's "Bronze", Silver and Gold would cost roughly 7,350 crowns.

I will leave it to your and your wallet to determine if you're willing to pay the Crown Store rate.

If you skip the tutorial, you get placed in the new content because it's a quick way for ZOS to funnel players into the new content they just bought and presumably want to play. It's an easy way for ZOS to show that this isn't a game where you need to play old content for hours before new players can play the latest expansion (like, say, Warframe.)

If you want to choose where you end up after the tutorial, you'll have to do the tutorial. The option to choose was something players asked for and ZOS added when they redesigned the Balfiera tutorial. If you skip it, you need up in the last chapter zone you bought.

Do what you want with that knowledge.

I'm sorry have you just suggested that you want to pay real money in order to not play the game?

Starting in AD will finish you with DC for Cadwell’s gold. One you are through the 2 starter zones of DC you move into Glenumbra and Stormhaven with a massive 24 quests to complete each zone story. This leads to quest fatigue. That’s 48 quests which a few are sub quests within the main quest, but that quest log looks daunting. If you try to go full completionist I’ve counted over 130 individual quests among those two zones alone. Those two zones are a marathon for sure.

It would be nice to be able to drop Caldwell's Silver from the quest log. That a spot in the quest log that I'll never get back.

I would be happy if they would just make picking the quest up optional instead of auto-putting it into the journal. I am one of those weirdos that must have a clean quest journal and seeing an extra quest in there like Cadwell's silver or gold that I don't intend to do for the 100th time just drives me nuts.

Personally, I can't stand having quests clogging up my journal. If I add a quest to my journal, I'll either see it through or I'll abandon it. But of course, most of the main quests are added to your journal automatically as soon as you set foot in a base game zone, and they can't be abandoned.

If I don't plan to include the main quest into a character's story, what I usually do is play through the main quest until you get to Coldharbour, and then just... drop it. As long as you don't finish the Coldharbour zone quest, you'll never get the last step of the main quest, and you'll never get Cadwell's Silver or Gold.

I actually don't mind having Cadwell's silver and gold in my quest log on my alt toons. If I make sure it's my active quest then I don't get a quest marker on the map from another quest in my log; and when you're directionally challenged like I am there is nothing to misdirect me that way if I'm wandering or doing surveys.. lol

Now that you have to deliberately talk to the hooded figure, my latest characters have not even started the main quest.
