Please Add Vertical Position and Offset sliders to the Console Camera Settings

Title.

Apparently, PC clients have had this option for years, but Consoles have their Camera stuck in a certain vertical position as default, with no way of altering, even though we do have sliders for Horizontal Position and Offset. Meaning, we can have the Camera to the left, right, or center of our Character as much as we want, but it'll always be just above our heads. It's much worse when you have a short Character, inhabiting the very bottom of your screen, forcing you to zoom far out to have your whole body in view.

Consoles don't have this? You need this.

I can't play a game in third person over one shoulder or the other. If it was not for pulling all the way out minimizing the effect....
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Consoles have a very butchered selection of settings compared to PC. It's never clicked with me just why they let us change our Camera's Horizontal position, but not the vertical.

I absolutely agree. What triggers me the most is that in every ESO trailer they use a very cinematic camera setting, with the camera being low.
I would love to be able of lowering the camera and achieve the same cinematic effect, even if it will be bad for practicality.
It's been years that I've seen console players like me asking for this setting to be added on consoles, and every Chapter I hope it will come, but I always get let down.
I would REALLY love to have a vertical positioning and offset setting on Xbox... Please...!

I really don't understand why so many options are restricted to the PC version. As well as this there's things like setting up different text chat tabs which has been an option on PC since launch and isn't on console.

I can sort of understand having fewer graphics settings since there's far less variation in hardware, but even then if someone wants to pick and choose which effects they get and the option already exists why not include it?

Not being able to change the camera position would really irritate me, especially when I'm trying to take screenshots.

I legit have a hard time targeting things sometimes because the camera floats so high above the characters' heads. I'm always looking at the ground unless I remember to pull back on my stick. ZOS, please!

@SickleCider thanks for your point! I thought I was the only one finding myself always looking at the ground. It's so frustrating, and yeah it's because of having the fixed camera without vertical settings.

My main problem has been forcing me to tinker with FoV. I try to get the world to have more of a zoomed in, in your face kind of feel like TES:V, but with that, the camera cuts off my characters at the waist or higher. I have to zoom out to get most of my character on screen but by that point its too far out.

If we could lower the camera's vertical position I could keep most of my character on screen WHILE also zoomed in, to feel like I'm right over their shoulder.

By the Nine, that would be horrible for me to play with.. I actually got an Addon (yes, on PC) that let me zoom out even more, set the focus centered and raised the camera way over my head so i'm able to see what's going on in front of me. Good old isometric camera, will always be my favorite.

100% the same for me. Want to achieve the same feeling but it's impossible with the settings we have right now. I struggle losing a lot of time to set the camera right as you described but it is simply impossible.
I'd like the Single Player game camera vibe, even if it's a disadvantage in fights, I don't care, I want a cinematic experience (I would also like being able to modify the aspect ratio to widen it).

Agreed. Kind of baffles me they can have horizontal but not vertical, esp. when the races can have big height differences.

I mean yeah I can see that, a game like this, PvP, Dungeons, Arenas and Trials you need situational awareness, but that's already available, by just zooming out when need be. What we also need is full control over where the camera sits.

I just found this screenshot (hope the author doesn't mind if I share) which is a perfect example of what we want to achieve with camera settings on consoles. Right now this camera is possible only on PC.
Please! Permit us to have this camera on consoles too! I beg you... It's so much cooler.

When the game was released on the consoles (2015?) the platforms had limited capacity, so I'm guessing some features had to be left out. Xbox1 was released at the end of 2013, so it's likely, at that time, most xbox players were using Xbox 360.
Since then we've had the release on xbox series S and X, which much beefed up performance. I play on Xbox series X nad the improved graphice release with HDR for ESO has made a hugh difference. However I believe there is more that ESO could do to give some PC like capabiltiesfor the faster/better platforms.

I would assume that the same would be true(ish) for the Playsation version.

However I guess from ESO's PoV, the question would be about resources and costs and the risks of making code changes with limited resources. Weve all seen how then went over that last 12/18 month.

I would also like an option for the game to switch automatically to first person when not in combat, and to return to third person when in combat. Ideally, I would like a further toggle for this to apply to overland and/or to dungeon content.

I don't know anybody that plays at that angle it's with full zoomed out or first person.

To add on top of this. The older generations of consoles hold back the new. They can't have features only available on X/S or the PS5 so the options have to work on the last gen console as well. So until they stop supporting the One and PS4 the consoles will have more limits on them. PC MASTER RACE!

I'm almost sure, after spending time learning about Skyrim Modding, what it would take ZOS to give the Console clients the extra Camera settings that the PC client already has, is literally just enabling a few things in the game's Config files... I would absolutely love to know the reason why they aren't there. Changing the Camera position has absolutely no effect on performance or resource use.
