Please Scale My Characters Down for Overland/Story Content

I have no hope this would be heard by anyone and instead I'll get a reply "stop being elitist" or something, just like any request made by an endgame player but here it goes. I have over 15k hour in this game and I almost never do story content unless I have to. Eso content got simplified so bad over the years this is an insult to playerbases' intelligence, you can complete 90% of the quests just by left clicking, and I am bored of listening a boss speak for 30 seconds only to do me 10 damage and then die instantly. I tried doing story missions with lv 1 gear or competely naked but what is the point of having builds if they will kill all the overland fun and I have to remove them.
Eso questlines are not boring but it is the gameplay that kills it for me, I never feel I accomplished anything because even the so called bosses die in an instant. Please at least have an option to scale characters down so both new and veteran players can enjoy the story. Right now the only difference between a bandit and a legendary boss in story missions is one of them survives 3 seconds longer.

Maybe a cp slottable star or 4 could be added to cause a player to be (various factors) weaker by x%.
Fan of playing magblade since 2015. (PC NA)
    Might be joking in comments.

I walked around Vvardenfell and thought the best way to find the nearest wayshrine was to die, but despite running around finding lots of flame atronachs etc to attack me I couldn't die. I had to swim out to sea to get the slaughterfish to do it.

I think it's great and like being invulnerable. You used to have to get special codes and cheats to do that.

A set of CP slottables would be an incredible way to do this.

Imagine 4 blue slottables of "do 20% less damage (additive)" and 4 red ones of "take 50% more damage." Someone who wants hardmode would therefore be running without red/blue CP assisting them and would be dealing only 20% total damage while taking 4x the damage from mobs.

It would make for slightly boring bullet-sponge fights, but it would be a way to add difficulty to overland without splitting the playerbase or rebuilding the entire game.

Whatever the solution so long as its optional and not one size fits all forced onto everybody.

Until your epic fight is cut short by someone wandering by who likes easy mode and kills your adversary with two skills.

Well, I at least would never "hop in" on someone else's fight. Only time I've done that in ESO was on my first CP 160 years ago now, when a guy in Coldharbour hollered for help. Don't even remember what the mobs were now.

I do. I wasn't aware that was wrong. It is an MMO, even if so many of us play a lot of it solo.

I would not want a change like the OP proposal to be mandatory!

I don't think it's "wrong" necessarily - and I've had people help me without asking. But I'm not all that great at combat anyway (never have been), so I've never considered that I'd really be much help. When the guy hollered at me though, I felt like I couldn't just ignore him, y'know?

Well, at least it's an option.

And I definitely agree with bmnoble that any solution should be optional. I love easy overland myself, makes travelling around Tamriel enjoyable and not overly time-consuming. Final bosses could be instanced with a vet option to make it feel more threatening.

A slottable cp or a mythic would be nice.
