How many crates on average does one need to buy to get 400 gems?

    I'm guessing 15-25.

    I got 400 gems just from the free crates from dailies, and I'm pretty sure I missed a few days too.

    I got 70 gems from one free Fire Attronach crate once. Good times.

    Lets see. From New series. If you purchase 15. You get around 150 gem. Not counting the duplications cuz its New series. If you open an existing one. And you lets say have half of the items, you get around 200+ from it. Depending on your rng.

    I would like the ability to turn everything I don’t want into gems. I have so many mounts, pets, costumes, that I just won’t ever use. I’d just perfect to be able to get gems for all that crap!

    Completely agree plus once upon a time you weren't forced by ZOS to keep a mount if you didn't want the one you got and could sell for gems. I think they only sit around thinking how can they make it harder and more of a grind giving as little back and squeezing out every penny they can from us. IMO the crown crates are now not a thing discussed with excitement but only about the high cost and low percentage to get anything other than a potion or scroll.

    It depends on what Crates you mean.
    For "free" Twitch drops Ouroboros Crown Crate i'd count for 5 gems per crate on average
    For "paid" other Crates my estimate is 12 gems per crate, but this is very approximate as i don't buy them crates a lot

    This^ the gem yield from crates has gone down a lot (coinciding with the release of seals, ~I wonder why~).

    30 crates more often than not I can get 350-400 Gems but it’s luck I guess

    I wish I were able to trade the umpteen millions of pets I have for gems. I never use them and I got all of them either free or bundled with a Chapter. I could care less about in-game pets.

    Correct me if I'm mistaken, but aren't some mounts even more than 400 gems now days? For sure gems don't buy what they did not too long ago.

    Yes. Some of the Radiant Apex mounts are like 1,200 gems, iirc.

    I remember the first horse I saw for 2000 gems I was astounded until I made 4 million selling crowns to someone who wanted it
