Arriving Home after a Day of Questing

I would adore if my characters, when I take them "Home, " could sit relax and when I log off, not have them stand up.

Yes, trivial but it bugs me.

I love taking my ladies home after a days work. Let them relax. No need to stand up when their "Other" logs off.

Yeah it would be cool to see them use the nearest bed when we log out. Log in and we see them wake up, yawn, rub their eyes and then get out of bed.

O yes the stand up when you hit escape to log off. So annoying. If they made another key for log off, so it wasn't esc, so they cld stay sitting....

Ctrl Alt Delete... its the only true way to log out.

I kid, i agree with OP that needing to stand is very immersion breaking.

You could always just type /playdead in the console then immediately logoff :)

You can sort-of do this, if you have them sit down then type /logout instead of going through the menu they'll stay sitting down.

You can do the same with sleeping on a bed and other emotes, but I always find it difficult to get the /sleep emote positioned correctly so they're the right way round and not hanging off the bed, and it ends up taking more time than it's worth. It's easier to have them sit down and imagine they'll go to sleep later.

This actually works well with a little practice.

All of my toons lay down in their beds and sleep every time I log off.

In my case I jump into bed, crouch then position so the character is facing the side of the bed (so pillows would be to your right), then use the /sleepside emote.
    Logoff.
    Nite nite.

/sleepback works from this same position too, the character pivots to lay flat nicely. Only problem is if you have a bed or something where you have a lot of pillows piled up, your head may clip through them. :#

Only types of beds this does not work with are any canopy-style beds bcuz those objects were designed with no volume in the middle. So your character can't fit inside, essentially it's a solid object.
I guess it saved a few bytes of storage per bed, or it's just lazy design.
Shame really bcuz I have a few beautiful canopy beds I'd love to use but I HATE furniture I can't interact with like this.

    EDIT: I checked quick:
/Sleep = Character lays down on their right side.
/Sleep2 = Character lays down on their back.

Wish there was an option to sleep on the left side also.
Guess this explains why a lot of injured NPCs run up to you holding their right arm. Lot of sore backs and right-sides in Tamriel lol

Oh yeah I know it can work, but when the end result is making the few seconds I'm logging out a bit more immersive I don't want to spend any longer than necessary getting it right or have to do multiple attempts and adjustments because it defeats the point of doing it at all. I'd rather do something which has a similar effect and reliably goes right on the first attempt.

It would be nice if they made beds interactable like chairs are, so you just have to push a button to sleep on the bed and it puts your character in the right position automatically.

If you're sitting, hit /camp. If you're lying down, hit /camp.

Your toon will dematerialize in place.

I would love an animation that involved getting into a bed that doesn't involve you jumping useless at the side for a sec because you misjudged it, to then go sailing over the entire thing because you overcompensated, to finally spinning, sidestepping and jerking around on the spot for a while as you try to get into the perfect position.

Only for your head to land below the pillow.

There are bigger issues to worry about of course, but it would be nice to have an animation that did this right XD

    Greetings,

We have closed this topic as it was originally created in December 2022. In many cases, it's better to create a new thread on a topic that you want to discuss as opposed to bumping one that is rather old.

    Thank you for your understanding.
