Another event and another Style with atrocious drop rate.

Didn't know ESO was a competitive trading sim. Saying "no one is a winner" regarding drops is like saying that if everyone is well fed then everyone is hungry. It's not harsh, it's nonsense.

It’s not even comparable and miss my point entirely as getting one more style page out of hundreds could be barely called an improvement to gameplay, let alone have anything to do with basic needs for survival.

I've never sold or traded anything in ESO. I vendor things to NPCs, and things I can't vendor I just delete.

I can imagine you probably didn’t get a lot of motifs or style pages that way through usual gameplay as most of them require a lot of grind to get all pages. Trading is essential part to collecting them. That’s a mmo after all, not a single player game.

The cooldown is the thing that really bothers me.

Like, I can get a chance at valuable item from the box if I wait but if I open it now I have absolutely no chance to get it?

@katanagirl1 the purple boxes also have a chance (hmm, this one sounds like an ESO news article) of dropping the style pages and the boxes seem to drop at a pretty decent rate from resource nodes, treasure chests, thieves troves and occasionally, from normal enemies or bosses.

Sammy is harvesting like mad in Western Skyrim and the Reach. This one remembers one year where the gold box always dropped a style page. Now that was a good event!

Running the event on 2 accounts.
Ive gotten 3 pages. One shoes and 2 hats.
Seriously.....out of 8 possible pages, Ive gotten two of the same one already.
There were SIX other possibilities. The odd should be in favor of one I DONT HAVE

I agree with the OP, This isn't making me like the event nor make me want to play more.
Its making me want to just ignore it and play something else. Why bother with this drop rate/RNG

Yes, I think I have gotten 2 of the 3 Saarthal Scholar pages I got out of purple boxes. I tried farming some mat nodes but I really didn’t get many purple boxes that way in Western Skyrim and I got no purple boxes in the Reach.

I am having serious inventory issues with the tons of purple motif pages, blue furnishing plans, and blue provisioning recipes that are dropping from the purple boxes. My main has all of them and I am trying to pass them down to alts but it is too much. I will probably just do the quests for tickets and buy the pages I need later.

This one also has a large amount of motifs and poor Ezabi has been the middlecat in transferring them to the newbie alts.

If there’s a quicker way of destroying them (also, mass filleting of fish when??), Sammy would buy the skill/service in a heartbeat.

Not Saarthal Scholar and Sovngarde Stalwart or only Sovngarde, but multiple Saarthal Scholar.

They want you to grind and stay in the game, this won't change. This makes for higher numbers and something they most likely need. I get it, frustrates me as well. The reward mechanism in ESO is just one of the many things that need to be fixed. Better off grinding for gold and then buying what you need.

The 24 hour cooldown on it isn't really needed when a casual player (4-10 boxes per day) hasn't got one drop in the last 3 Days!
Abysmal drop rate doesn't even come close, If I wanted a mind numbing grind, I'd volunteer for more hours at work not log in to a supposedly "fun" pastime.

To be able to grind, something needs to actually be grindable. If it has once a day cooldown it's not grindable.

@ZOS_Kevin , would you kindly check up how these style pages work? Is it once a day and reset with dailies, 20hours cooldown, or is there no cooldown at all and we can loot multiple a day? It's specifically the Saarthal Scholar style pages.

Sounds like you have bad luck then. Ive already gotten all the pieces from both the Sovngard and Saarthal sets.

My big complaint however is they need to increase the drop rates of purple vampiric furnishing blueprints to drive down the prices. Most still sell for 300k and over. Hell, the amber chandelier goes for a million easily

Wow. I've been able to get my one-a-day of the new style page usually in under a dozen boxes, but haven't gotten a single drop of the Sovengarde style.
