Please Change Destination Marker from Quest List Back!

It is very annoying that so many quests now show the next step to get to the quest rather than the final destination. I want to see where the quest is on the overall map, not the next door to path through to it, especially since so many of those was a LOT of time and don't take wayshrines into account.

Sometimes it will properly show the dungeon, but zooming out shows the next door there, not the location of the dungeon!

This is especially bad in High Isle, but I have seen it in other places.

It did seem to arrive when they finally fixed the bug that routed you through another alliances base in the IC sewers for AD, a really annoying bug. I hope fixing that didn't introduce that one. The AD base/version just needed to act like the others, not bring in more hassle elsewhere!

I don't complain about the game very often, but this is one change that I HATE.

It is *highly* inconvenient when accepting a quest in town that we now have to get outside of town (or similar situations wherein you need to get on the other side of a door) before we can see on the map where we need to go for the quest.
It adds an extra, UNNECESSARY, time-wasting step into the process of getting to one's destination.

It's a world design decision the devs have made since the Greymoor chapter. The major city hub "interior areas" are actually placed out of the playable bounds of the Zone worldspace (which is a reason for the loading screens). Gonfalon Bay's "interior" can actually be seen from High Isle by looking southeast from the Colossus View Lighthouse and is visible on the Tamriel map as well:

Placing a waypoint on the little island that I've circled will move it to the proper Gonfalon Bay location on the High Isle Zone map.

This one has been wondering why you have to get outside of cities to find the actual quest location. Glad to hear it’s not an individual experience and annoyance.

Very annoying in Western Skyrim at. Tye minute, when I want to do dailies for ticket and I can't travel directly from Solitude Wayshrine because I can't see which wayshrine to go to next.

I thought an addon I was using broke something; this is a really annoying feature - always gotta port outside an area to find the quest marker. :/

I agree with op. Minor changes to the quest journal could help alot. Instead of 'Go gather eggs for Eggbert', how about 'Go to the xyz delve in NW Amenos and gather eggs for Eggbert.' Too often, the quest journal doesn't tell me where to go - and neither does the quest arrow system without getting to a random out of town wayshrine first. Even worse for quests that send you to another zone.

The Undaunted Pledge system has it right - 'Go to Fungal Grotto in Stonefalls'.

I thought it always worked like that? When did it change, and what was it like before? When I started playing ESO after the Morrowind chapter was released, the quest markers took me all across the Daggerfall Covenant just to turn in my crafting writs, and I didn't know better yet so I followed them and ended up on a grand adventure.

I just want to see my quest destination while I'm in town. Tired of having to port to a wayshrine outside of town just to see where the quest is exactly, and then end up porting to another anyway.

I agree. Showing the next step as well could sometimes be useful but I'd like to always be able to see the final destination so I know where I'm actually going and can decide for myself the best way to get there.

I think you may be right about the Blackwood timing, now that I think about it.
But I could swear that it reverted back to normal for awhile, before going back to what we are experiencing now.

I specifically remember thinking, "Aw, Jeez, it's happening again," when doing the main zone quest in High Isle.

You just have to know the best places to turn the daily crafting writs in and ignore the targeted location. I do my crafting in Alinor (Summerset) now, though I did try both Vivec City and High Isle. I still like Alinor, even with the annoying singer there when you zone in inside the crafting area.

It was much more rare prior to High Isle in my experience. It happened before, but not all of them. Some quests still work properly, but the "city is in a separate zone" feature is likely the core problem.
