Good thing I only make one of the things I use.

I have around 30 builds and I also experiment heavily for PvP. I've got a stockpile of almost 3000 transmute crystals stored as reconstructed items in my bank. So I'm not exactly hurting if I can't deconstruct a Mythic item. Just wondering why this is by design because it doesn't make sense. A reconstructed Mythic item is no different than any other reconstructed item, so you should be able to deconstruct it to get the transmute crystals back.

I think the difference is, a mythic requires zero mats to construct it. And you cannot deconstruct a base mythic you dig up directly. So there really isn't anything to pull apart from it outside of the transmutes. Every other item has mats that can be regained when deconstructing.

Nothing requires mats to reconstruct it, only transmutes. You can reconstruct any set item for crystals only, then deconstruct it to get 25 transmutes and no mats, since you invested none. You only have chance to get some mats back if you chose to invest mats to upgrade item from base quality. You can reconstruct some perfected jewelry in gold only as it's base quality, deconstruction will never grant mats since you can not upgrade that further.
