questing. i been playing on and off for under 2 years. i want to do all the quests once in my eso life. I use an addon for questing that gives me a route to take to do that. I am wondering can i just pick up any quest in any area and do them randomly and not miss anything in the game that has to do with questing. I am basically scared if i dont quest in order of 1 2 3 4 5 vs if i went 2 4 3 1 5 that ill miss something.

will i miss anything doing it randomly? i dont want to use this addon anymore

Some quests are best experienced in a certain order, but you'll understand the plotline retroactively. Only thing you might miss is dialogue that only plays when you've done certain quests, but you can always check UESP for alternative dialogue or redo the quest later on (on a different character).

You'll never complete *all* the quests, because some of them are mutually exclusive with others, and completing one automatically fails another.

I'm myself playing based on the "pick up here and there depending on mood" concept. It's trouble free. However, there are two points to keep in mind:
- Mainly for area story quests, it can need to have previous quest done to unlock next. But it's not a general rule.
- As said by @vsrs_au , some quests are mutually exclusive.

Yet there are many internet sites of the wiki type providing all necessary information and it's easy to check when you take up one quest, if it's linked to something else or not.

The only quests you can miss because of the order you completed other quests are the mini ones designed to direct you to each area's main quests, but those are literally just talking to an NPC who directs you to the actual quest giver.

Also you'll miss some of those by following a guide because they only trigger when you skip a step. If you approach the area where one quest line takes place without having done the preceeding one that's supposed to send you there an NPC will approach you (or appear somewhere very difficult to miss) to send you to the first quest giver, but if you've done the preceeding quest and got the proper introduction they won't show up.

So you can't see everything on one character, but you won't really miss anything, just get different versions of the introductions depending on the order.

There are some zones where the main quest will take you around most of the map and you will come across the side quests as you go. I just finished Eastmarch and Northern Elswyr on a new character and they were like this.

There are also a couple of zones, the obvious ones that come to mind are Wrothgar and Coldharbour, where I would suggest you go out and find all of the side quests before you finish the main questline, because of how it impacts the zone.
