Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• [IN PROGRESS] ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
The ranking system is pretty loose. I think its basically a measurement of time played, and I suppose points earned, but it results in not so good active players being grouped with perhaps less active sweats. Or a sweaty player might be working on a toon they havent played in years, in which case they get to climb through the ranks again.
Bad design, just played another BG with a player having a K/D of 19/3. I can never compete with that. And it must be boring for elite gamers to fight hopelessly incapable players like myself. If ESO had enough gamers, as it did in 2015, it would have been no problem for talented PvPers to quickly find matches where they can fight peers. But 95% of ESO today is so easy that it’s boring, so many leave the game, and the remaining 5% of the game is so difficult (for me at least) that I can never do it with the best gear and over 1350 CP. Well well, it is as it is.
My observation is the more you play, the higher your matchmaking rating (MMR), regardless if you win or not. If a really good player plays every few weeks, you might get matched and absolutely wrecked.
Additionally, the number of active Battleground players drops significantly later in the evening and into early morning. The matchmaking system widens the search and more experienced players end up getting matched with less experienced players.
Two Crazy King games from 3am last night.
I didn't ask to be matched like this. When I logged off, I actually felt bad because most of the players in this game were dying in 1-2 seconds. Something like 12k+ damage per second just from me. I'm Rank 50 with all Battlegrounds achievements getting matched with players in standard PvE builds (16-24k health, no armor, etc). It's not right.
I've tried healing these types of games many times. It's frustrating because it takes a long time for teammates to kill anyone because the damage isn't there. I sit there healing while my team struggles when I could switch to my dps build and wipe them all in 15 seconds. I'd have some short-term satisfaction and feel bad later on. Lastly, there's the issue of my team essentially becoming invulnerable from my heals and it's unbalanced and unfair for the other teams.
Just some perspective from someone on the more experienced side that doesn't want to play in an unbalanced battleground.

I respect the skills of good players The game however should have three different classes: feather weight, middle weight, heavy weight. Me, I belong in the wannabe snowflake class.
