I find this poll funny, there were parts of each companion quest that I liked, other parts not so much... I picked Bastian simple because of the KO punch at the end... Bastian is also the companion I like the least... mostly because I like Cheese.
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...

I haven't completed any of them. Takes to long to level them up to finish their quest, they all play at the same level, which is uninspiring and they're always getting in the way or they run away, pulling aggro just as I drop an AOE. SMH....some fine tuning is needed.
Everyone is going in one direction, I'm going the other direction

I'm going to say my favorite companion quest is (was)... There's a tie and it's between Bastion (my last companion I unlocked) and Ember’s (second companion) quests. Leaning towards Ember's though. (EDIT ADD: It's Ember's quest all the way.) The reason is that these quests were the most enjoyable for me. They were fun and had the least amount of killing (explained below). Every character I have I immediately went to get Ember. I can do Ember's quest without killing any extra mobs.

Isabel's quest surprised me. I was just running around and I saw this quest and picked it up. It wasn't until after the quest was finished and I received her as a companion did I then realize what quest I was on. This was an enjoyable quest but kinda in between the best and the worst. It was three parts. The third one was way too long. Especially considering time was of the essence. When I'm trying to finish this quest (or any). And I come up on someone I need help from. Only to be sent off on another quest for that person to finish before they will help. I REALLY HATE THAT!!!! And that happens over and over in this game.

My least favorite quest was the Mirri Elendis quest (My first companion). Too long and drawn out. Too much fighting and the final boss was way too hard. It was quite a while before I tried to get any of the other companions because of this quest. I didn't want to go through that again.

I've been playing MMO's for a long long time and I wish the developers would come up with more creative ways to gain experience than constant fighting. Typically here is how it goes. Get the quest (not companion quests). Go to the general area. Kill kill kill to get to the target. Kill target. Rinse, repeat.

And before you say, “Well that's the game.” For me, the same old sch!t gets boring. Same thing over and over. I will say that this game has held my interest longer than any of the others. I joined in Feb. 2014. But still adheres to this formula way way too much. I relish a quest that has no killing. I relish a hotdog. You???

    For the full quest-line:

Bastian Hallix > Ember > Mirri Elendis > Isobel Velois

    For the initial quest:

Mirri Elendis > Ember > Bastian Hallix > Isobel Velois

( I did Ember and Isobel Velois just on the PTS with the Rapport booster)

Despite not liking Bastian that much I did like his quest.

Despite liking Mirri I wasn't really a big fan of her full quest line.

The only one I have not done so far is Ember, but I did not voted on her because I know that she is gonna win because she has unfair advantage - she is a cat.

So I decided to give others a chance lol.

If I had to pick one I would say Mirri...but it's like picking the best in an ugly Dog contest.

Companions need a ton of work in AI, lines, and appearance.

Favourite to least favourite quest lines:

I've always found Bastian's quest chain to be the most interesting with some of the best voice acting in compared to the others. Just felt really genuine and interesting. His introduction quest is short, gets the point across and doesn't drag, which is great when unlocking him across characters.

After that, I actually don't mind Ember's quests. I found her more likeable the way she was written while she was involved in the quests. The 'magicky' chaos cat thing she has going on normally is a bit much for me. I did find her introduction quest, similar to Isobel's, a bit drawn out though.

In third place are Mirri's quests. They're fine. The quest chain itself feels a little unfinished for some reason but both Blackwood companions have things left unanswered in their final quest - I'd happily see both get another quest to tie things up. I have to be in the mood to want to unlock her starter quest as it is fairly long but I don't hate it.

Least favourite has to be Isobel's quest lines. Introduction quest is far too long and despite there supposidly being some sense of urgency it just keeps going and going. The rest of her quests don't really flesh her out much and you end up learning more about the characters around her. Felt unfocused as storylines go.

Not sure if you mean the unlock quest or the storyline quest. Anyway, I dislike all the unlock quest for the simple reason that I have to do them over for each and every character. I kindda liked Mirri's storyline, but I find all the storylines too short/shallow.

Mirri's for me. Bastian's would have been better except I couldn't stand the squealy voice of the one character - the one who's rescued.

I don't remember much about Ember's and Isobel's, even though I did them more recently, which tells me they were largely forgettable for me.

To start the quest chains you need to get the rapport with the companions up.

Getting the rapport up generally is done by doing a daily quest the companion likes each day for a bit or by doing an action they like for an extended period.

    Rapport Spoilers:

    The rapport is character specific.

If you want to skip all of that and just experience the story you can make a template PTS character, do the quest for the companion quick and use the companion rapport booster to boost the rapport up so you can knock the story sections out without the grind.

I completed Ember’s initial quest on 24 characters, one after the other over two days. I really enjoyed it and would happily do it again as it was fun. All characters have Mirri and Bastian but were unlocked at a slower pace and as new alts we’re created. I didn’t mind doing their initial quests repeatedly either.

However, Isobel’s quest, being in three parts, is too long and I quickly lost interest. I have only unlocked her on three characters and have completed one part on about three others. She is at full rapport and undergoing training while the others are all maxed.

Voted Ember, as this poll is about the unlock quest. To unlock a companion, Ember's quest was fastest, so I liked that one most. Isobel's unlock quest was much too long in my opinion. Especially considering we need to unlock her on 18 characters, and maybe any future characters as well.

The companion story questlines were all fine, as all of them required some traveling. And they were all different stories, so that is fine with me. My favorite part was when I got turned into a monkey! So their story questlines are all a tie to me.

The companion perks are all good, except for Bastians. His perk needs to change to ANY potion dropped or acquired is now an upgraded version. For two reason: Saving on inventory space, and being able to have enough of the upgraded potions to actually use them. And maybe have Ember's pouch drop as an added pickpocketing reward, and not as a full pickpocket item replacement.

For use, I like Ember most. As she has the most practical likes/dislikes for how I play. The one I dislike using most, is Mirri. But only because of her dislikes for bugs, it is too easy to accidentally lose rep on her. Bastian's no stealing is annoying, but nothing to drastic.

Have all companions level 20, and max rep on atleast one character(perks are accountwide). My Bastian and Isobel are tanks, and very useful for world bosses. My Mirri and Ember are DPS. Have no need for healers, as I always have a self-heal available. Maybe a future companion of mine will be specced healer.

PS: For ZOS: Bastian's outfit is bugged, selecting his outfit does not stick. (already posted this in the bug forum a week ago)

Bastian edges out because I really liked when the one guy gets knocked out. Man, that guy sucks. Ember is a close second with the magical shenanigans.

I really love the way the writing/acting manages to get the tension between the two so right. Before you even meet Quistley you know he's going to be a huge pain in the backside. You can really feel that punch building throughout the quest :D . Very satisfying.

For just the unlock part, I liked the ones for Ember and Isobel the most--Isobel's in particular had a very cinematic feel and could easily be a story for a lighthearted knight movie. Ember's quest had a mischievous atmosphere and a funny dialogue. In contrast Bastian's intro quest was too short without much going on (plus, the setting wasn't very nice) and Mirri's quest had a lot of repetitive steps. But when it comes to the rest of their personal quests, I think Ember's was the best one, because of the mystery, the emotional component, and the touching reunion. Isobel's quest turned a bit boring, and the characters involved weren't as likable. Bastian's quest turned more interesting after the intro, and it also had a moving resolution, same as Mirri's though Mirri's wasn't as interesting in comparison.
