Has anyone else stopped playing ESO after the latest update?

I know they said a fix is coming on November 14, but without addons, I view the game as basically unplayable. I'm logging in for daily rewards and done.

I just turned off node detection library and haven't crashed and my gameplay is not different in any aspect. I'm not even certain what that library does, honestly. Harvestmap still works fine.

It's only one bugged addon (only one library of that addon, so the addon itself it still useable), and I don't use it anyway, so no.

Besides, there's plenty to do in the game. The block bugs are really hurting me doing high-level content and my progs are sufferings, but that doesn't stop me from still doing my storytelling. I've still got a few quests to do, and I'm working hard on some fashion for another character.

That is the good thing about ESO - there's so much to do that if one aspect of play is bugged, it's obnoxious but there are other things I can do.

Dont give us much of a choice when the patch breaks the latest content and makes it near impossible to achieve goals. Hopefully things are fixed in a few weeks and we can come back and play.

@Kiyakotari I'm playing with all of my addons except harvest tracker (it uses the node detection library) and the ability to run logs during trials since running logs also crashes the game.

How is it "unplayable" because addons can't be used?
Or do you mean you just don't want to play it the way it's designed to be played?

Game works fine for me, all addons still enabled. I don't use anything that requires the node detection library, and I don't use logs for anything. Also I disabled the "hide followers" option as I don't care about that.

Guess I'm playing an unplayable game than... Seriously, some players rely WAY too much on add-ons.

PS: I'd be fine if ZOS removed add-ons completely!

Tanking some content is more difficult, so I avoid some of it. Im pretty "meh" about the add ons. I like them, and I want to use them, but theyre an addition to the game. Things like the block bug effect an integral part of the game.

If one of those is going to change how I play, it'll be blocking, not add ons.

All my add ons work fine, I wasn't using the nodedetection lib. Only thing that caused me to crash was the pet thing so I turned that off, been fine since.

Disagree, if I couldn't use some of my main add ons I would probably take a two week pause. Pretty much everything mankind has invented the last two centuries was to make things easier, faster and/or more convenient. It's only logical to use add ons to adept the game to your liking. If the bare UI is the way ZOS wants us to play they wouldn't give the option for add ons.

Exactly. If ZOS removed addons completely, I'd quit playing - and paying 3 annual account subs.

Two of my accounts have 36 characters (both pc megaservers full roster) and I had more characters to make. What I do with them is play them of course. I'm retired, I get to play as long as I like, since this is my retirement hobby. Certainly a lot more fun than whatever's in second place!

As a console player, I can't really relate to being unable to play without add-ons. There are some that sound nice. But, the game feels fine to me without them.

However, I can relate to not wanting to play a game that's crashing constantly. That's genuinely one of the most frustrating and worst bugs you can get, and it's a shame it's not being fixed faster.

In the meantime, I have heard you only need to disable a specific add-on. And also disable hiding pets in town. Doing those two things seems to be a decent workaround for many PC users, or at least that's what I have read. Have you tried those two things?

I disabled the NodeDetection library but still got kicked to character selection screen with a rollback so it's not the only thing causing it. Had to disable all addons to be sure, but haven't played much since because this game sucks without them. It would been ok if they had worked on game QoL more than once in 8 years, maybe then we wouldn't need so many addons.

Almost everything you do breaks your block - block casting, block dodging, basically everything that is vital for a tank to do or it's a wipe

I play on the NA PC/Mac server, and I have not really been affected by the log in (crashing) issues it appears many others are experiencing.

Game play hasn't changed for me. I never used Harvest Map. I had the roll back crash a couple of times and that cost me a Bewitched Sugar Skulls recipe, but other than that...

I'm not happy with the bugs I keep encountering while running Galen main quest with a friend, but it's a beautiful zone and I'm loving the druidic elements.

I'm not sure why the Mornard Knights look like bees though...

I only had one crash, immediately after turning on the new option to hide pets. I turned that off again and it hasn't crashed since. All my addons still work and I've not noticed any other big problems. Some of the usual stuff like skills not activating when I push the button, but that's been going on for years.

Addons improve quality of life by enhancing the vanilla UI. Many players don't want to play without those improvements.

I'm PC and have never used addons, so never had the crashing problem - my fiance' and stepmother also play, and no addons.....

However, we have been seriously noting that the mobs are getting unblockable attacks, unblockable stuns, and can attack you, even after death, and having been looted (and yes, watching a prone creature suddenly execute an attack is kind of funny.....)

So, we have dropped off running our group content, and gone back to mostly overland ... hoping they fix it soon.

The game was unplayable for me due to crashes in the short period before I disabled the nodedetection library.

I did not disable other add-ons, have played a bit, and didn't notice much in the way of other problems except in the behavior of a couple of add-ons themselves.

I'm still playing daily, several hours each day, on two servers.

I don't use addons, so no problems there.

Block is working fine for me, but then I apparently don't use it the way a lot of other players do-- for instance, I don't hold block while roll-dodging.

There have been some slow load times when entering heavily populated areas, such as NPCs taking what seems like up to half a minute or more to appear even though I can see their nameplates and interaction prompts (but not able to be interacted with yet) when I'm looking in their direction, but thankfully those have not been too frequent-- and reloadui seems to fix it if the NPCs who I want to interact with are taking too long to appear.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!
