What kind of chapter would you like to see most?

As we approach the end the year. Another chapter has come has come and gone.
I think most would agree it left a little more to be desired but, all we can do is look forward.

What kind of chapter would you like to see most?

Personally I think my #1 would be Pyandonea with an addition of the Maormer race for all alliances. As well as a pirate class or swashbuckler

#2 Second, would probably be the rest of Hammerfell, Maybe a DLC for the islands within the Bay.

#3 Last for me, would be Whiterun/The rest of Skyrim, with a Solsheim DLC for the final quarter.

Options for features ideas instead of classes/races would be a third ability morph, a new skill line, or spell crafting.

But, I would love to hear about what others would like to see!

I've seen too much Skyrim in my lifetime.

I do want something more undaunted focused though...They deserve a quest chain and storyline

I'd like to see more pvp themed content. Maybe an area outside cyrodiil that has enhanced drops/loot for those who flag for pvp and those who don't get the basic rates. This area could have towns/outposts that buff the aliances bonuses further.

Alternatively I'd like to see new pvp modes like outpost rush in new world made in eso as it allows large battles with keep v keep fights but in smaller zones and hopefully less lag.

I'd like to see an actual Imperial one (Colovia with Skingrad and Sutch or in what's left of Nibenay) that actually gave lore on Imperial Religion and culture but I know that's asking too much of TES for they only bother with religions with Daedra in it.

One single chapter so that there is cohesion to the story. This business of chopping up stories and with a mini DLC is hairball inducing.

Agreed. It seemed somewhat natural with Elsweyr somehow (maybe just because it was the first one) but each one after feels like they are scrounging for money (even though they gave some for free to current players.)

    my thoughts
in the epilogue of firesong/high isle if you talk to razum-dar and ask him what are the queens eyes up to, he mentions something about black marsh

this seems plausible that it could be a hint on what the next content will focus on

I don't care so much for the chapter itself, per say, as much as I do for anything which expands gameplay in any significant way. To be specific, we are long overdue for a new weapon skill line, or any universal combat skill line really. Even an expansion to class skill lines would make things more intriguing at this point. That said, chapter story writing has also been woefully lacking these last two years, with even mere side-quests being more memorable than main quest lines... It would be nice to get back to feeling like an actual Elder Scrolls story rather than the theme park Carousel that was Blackwood and High Isle. Even the music in High Isle sounded like some high fantasy theme park background music straight from a Disney theme park or something. High Isle was nothing at all akin to the political conflict during Wrothgar questline (which was one of the main things they said it would be).

Eh, my preferences are pretty set in stone: I don't care about anything Dunmer, I want more Redguard and Bosmer content; and I think it's time PVP got a little love. A couple of my friends are seriously into PVP - or were, but they don't play ESO any more, they've gone off to GW2 because ESO's "wimped out" on its PVP content. I don't pvp myself, but it's fairly obvious something needs to be done for those still here who do.

I got content I love the last two years, though - so it's someone else's turn. If it's Dunmer and PVP, I'll deal. As for more Skyrim - please, no.

Very much this. The creativity in storyline, dialogues and so forth can really do with a boost.

Considering how they...improved Breton lore, I'm intrigued how they would handle Bosmer and Redguard lore.

Legacy of the Bosmer and Legacy of the Redguard has a nice ring to it.

What I would like most would be a non-PvP Cyrodiil chapter.
With a main quest about ending the Three Banners war. And focus on Imperials as the "race of the year". (For real, not half-heartedly like Blackwood. Elsweyr had more and better things to say about Imperials than Blackwood, sadly. One of the reasons I love it so much.)
Since I know they realistically will never touch Cyrodiil (sigh), I'd settle for a "true" Imperial chapter somewhere else.

Another wonderful idea would be if all the "old" chapters (and base game, and DLCs) would get additional content that calls back the hero who helped them all that time ago. So some of the main characters of each zone (leaders, important figures and memorable side quest characters) would have new quests for characters who already finished the zone/their quest lines.
But with their focus on making the new chapters most appealing for new players that probably is even less realistic than non-PvP Cyrodiil.

I agree about the need for better storytelling, especially for the main quest. And please, for all the gods' sake, the writers should stop treating my character like an idiot with amnesia!

    A good one.

    Please.

The last four chapters. Or “years” have just been the same story with a different coat of paint. Abandon the year long formula and return to the days of Orsinium, Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild that helped ESO make it’s come back. Stop playing it so safe with plots. Give the game a canon continuity and timeline.

There’s a ton of other stuff I’d like to see such as the long promised RP phase to help open world non-guild RP occur naturally but I doubt that’ll ever arrive.

Just please let go of arbitrary writing constraints for the sake of letting someone play the game out of order and stop recycling the same old plot. The Ascendent Order is still a stupid evil cult as much as the Waking Flame. Don’t pretend they were a genuine political antagonist like Orsinium had.
Desperate for Roleplaying servers to bring open world non-organised RP to Elder Scrolls Online. Please ZOS.

I just want a really involving story that doesn't feel like anything we've had before. They made a lot of noise about how High Isle won't have a Daedric prince trying to take over the world but it's still the same old cult thing.

The last few year found stories just don't captivate me. It doesn't feel new, it's just the same stuff with a different look. Make it seem like you guys care about your game, or if you can find the strength for it even make it feel like you care about out time and fun.

I would love any story where players:

    1. Have dialogue choices that reflect character decisions (being vampire, werewolf, joining TG or DB or even an alternate quest path for those (hint - huge opportunity loss there in Blackwood with Elam)

    2. Have more returning characters acknowledge events and quests your alts completed the from base game and other DLC zones (hint - having Lyranth give an extra dialogue option for my Blackwood born toon when he encountered her in Shadowfen was a pleasant surprise. More like this please!)

    3. Have dialogue options that give RP flavor even if the quest itself stays on rails

    4. Have dialogue options that allow us to circumvent the "tell me again what are we doing" or "tell me what is going on again" type responses that make my characters sound dumb (hint - some of us players can actually follow what is going on and don't need things explained a second time. Let the recaps be optional and not forced)

    5. This one is more of a personal preference, but I enjoy being in a combat party with the quest NPCs. It makes me wish I could bring them around with me all the time (and is also a reason why many of us wish they could be Companions). Those are some of my favorite parts in quests, and I've literally died to quest bosses I could take down in seconds trying to get cool combat screenshots with some of my favorite NPCs. If I had it my way, Caska would be my tank, Sereyne and Razum Dar would be my sorcerer and nightblade dps, and Fennorian would be my healer all the time, but as it is, I can only enjoy their company during their stories.

Also, please stop using formula plots that we can see through. We didn't need to see a million miles away that Svargrim was the bad guy. We don't need another long lost princess. We like villains who are not one dimensional (example: Rada al'Saran was way more compelling than Svargrim). We want to feel emotionally invested without cheap tropes. It's ok to feel sympathy for the bad guy. It's ok to not have foreshadowing for every twist, especially foreshadowing that hits us in the face with a huge arrow pointing out the upcoming twist. It's ok to have complex themes interwoven into the story that might make us think or feel or contemplate. ZOS, you're writing for a rated M audience, that means you are writing for adults who can actually think and enjoy complexity. Look at some of the more popular base game zones and DLC, and ask why people like those as opposed to others.

Finally, some of the later chapter stories feel rushed. It might be a result of the pandemic, and I certainly give grace for that, but unfortunately it does show in the final result. Maybe the year long story formula is too much to churn out. Find something else that gives the time needed to flesh out the stories so they don't feel rushed. I'm not necessarily asking for more hours of content; I'm asking for corners to not be cut and letting stories and characters flesh out properly so everything feels more complete.

ZOS, we love the characters you create, we love the voice acting, the story ideas themselves are not bad, just take adequate time to write out and polish something that is worthy of those characters, voice acting, and ideas.

They'd have to redo the entire game graphics from scratch in order to make it work with flying mounts. I don't see that happening any time soon, so guess it's a good thing WoW is still around for those that need to fly. Oh, and GW2 has some as well I think?
