2 weeks, minimum, to get addons back?

This is a very disappoint thing.

Maybe I will give up the Endeavor grind (and even finishing riding training) and just do something else or focus on another MMO. Not a good plan/solution.

Just disable the nodedetection library...that fixes it for most folks, if you are still affected then yeah, that sucks.

I was just following their advice to disable all addons.

Though having that disabled is not nice as well, since I didn't grind skyshards as much on the PC because of HarvestMap.

I am rebuilding from scratch, after leaving a LOT behind (mounts, houses, etc. And Crowns!). And now this.

I can understand if they need to find the problem and fix it, but most who develop software can get a partial fix out quickly for serious problems. A 2 week wait is a LOT of potential playtime. And 2 weeks of my now cancelled ESO+ time. (It was cancelled before this.)

I now do wish I had not given in and gotten several Crown packs during the last sale. I will be walking from a chunk of those if I stop playing. Though I have done so with other games. I like to support the games I play, but several things are pushing me away here and I am not a "I wanted it harder" player!

It can be part of addon, not seperated mod. Do you checked every folder of your all addons? For example, very popular mod "Harvest map" have this folder, you can rename it and still using this and many other mods. I have dozens of them and everything is fine.

Also make sure that new option of hiding pets in town is disabled, because it makes crashes too.

You should test it like I did: for me, if I let HarvestMap aside (NodeDetection) and that I disable the feature to hide followers, it's working trouble free with all my other addons enabled. So it's no worries to wait until mid November for just one addon. :)

Edited for precision: it seems that in my case, the deadly combo is NodeDetection + Hiding followers. If those two are disabled, all is OK.

Its just the Harvestmap that is the problem. Just remove that ONE addon and corresponding Libraries that Only affect Harvestmap.

Everything else I have runs fine. Haven't crashed at all.

Everyone I know has been playing with absolutely no issues whatsoever with all their addons, just disable NodeDetection.

If disabling only NodeDetection does not stop addon-related crashes for you it's possible the patch for that particular issue will not fix the problem for you anyway. Suggest enabling your addons one addon + dependensies at time until you find the cause for your crash, and reporting whatever you find causing the issue for you.

There is plenty you can blame the company for - blaming them for a 3rd party software confliction is not a sensible option.

Add ons are, were and always will be 'use at your own risk'. Don't make the mistake of thinking Add ons are part of ESO - they're an optional extra that ZOS tries to make not screw up your whole game.

And since there are people crashing outside of Add ons, let's focus on those people first eh.

That new 'Hide Followers' option in Gameplay settings is causing CTDs as well.
    Do you have that enabled?

Would never play the game on console, or without addons, and my guilds get console refugees every day.

The API addons use is built into the game client. If using it causes the client to crash, that's a bug. There's no way around that.

But thanks for echoing the standard ZOS excuse for ignoring API related problems.

They aren't ignoring it. They've acknowledged the problem and are working on a fix that will be deployed on Nov. 14.

NodeDetection Library from Harvest Map. Harvest Map works without it only not work spawn detection of nodes.
For example yesterday crashing because Major/Minor buffs applied while in groups. For this and for the DK standart is todays hotfix.

I played few hours with 50 addons on, only disabled NodeDetection library. Turned off "Limit followers in town" Options because this can cause CTD. And game runs flawless without crash... Okay only one with rollback on the High Isle that first day.

Everything related to CTDs are posted in update section of this forum. Even /encounterlog for log recording can cause CTD!

I'm using all my add-ons normally (I just turned off NodeDetection as suggested here on Nov 1st).
Later today I will try travelling to the new area, so I can check if I don't get any roll backs.

I waited until yesterday afternoon to go to Galen (mainly because it wasn't part of my Witches Festival routine, so I kinda forgot about it until the event was over), and I didn't get any roll-backs. Even when I went there again this morning, before the hotfix maintenance.

While some addons may cause crashes (and the NodeDetection library is the most prominent and repeatable one):

Not all crashes are addon-related. The game manages to crash on its own perfectly fine.
Two bugs they've already hotfixed. But hiding pets in towns, enabling combat logging, and maybe a few others will also crash your game, with no addons involved.

If you don't want to play without addons and don't want to wait 2 weeks I think it's worth taking the time to enable addons one by one to see which one/s are causing problems, so you only have to keep those ones turned off and can use the others. It might well be only 1 addon that's causing you problems.

Also the 2 week delay isn't because that's how long it takes ZOS to find and fix the problem, it's because they have to go through a certification process for Stadia like they do for consoles.

I know, it makes me laugh what some of the add-ons do, they may as well have something that plays the game for them, while they kick back with a brew and take credit.

One tips, check that nodedetection is off and not just greyed out because you disabled other libraries it depend on.
I had this problem, I enabled it and disable it again and it changed colors from slightly grey to black.
After this I had no problems.

ZOS allows addons and ZOS controls how addons are allowed to interact with the game so it is 100% ZOS's fault when addons break the game because they are allowing them to. Also ZOS is ADMITTING it is their fault by saying they are going to make the addon work again with a patch.

That said 2 weeks is nothing in terms of MMO playtime so people can be a bit less emotional about a handful of addons that aren't working.

If you've got a lot of addons that's probably a good way to do it.

I've 'only' got 19 installed (and don't use all of them on most of my characters) so when I'm having problems it's usually just as easy to do it one at a time and see what happens.

This time I didn't have any problems with addons. I had one crash just after turning on the new option to hide pets and heading to the crafting stations in Alinor, which is apparently a separate problem (I'm now keeping that option off until it's fixed).

When I have had to play without addons for a while I'm often surprised by the ones I miss. Like Random Mount, which randomly changes your mount and pet when you change areas. It's probably the most pointless addon I have, but when it's not working I miss it. The only one I didn't want to play without was made part of the base game years ago - the one which added subcategories to the inventory window.

A great many of them. Yeah, I played for 3.5+ years without addons, but I got tired of many things addons gave, so I made the very painful switch.

You may not see any need to do that, but I switched FOR addons, so having the official line of "turn them off for 2 weeks, at least" is very disappointing.
