Did they change the reset timer for daily rewards?

For the last year, I think, I've been getting daily reward unlocks around 5pm EST. When I logged on just now, around 3pm EST, the splash screen came up stating that the next reward unlocks in 12 hours - at 3am EST.

So . . . did I miss something in the patch notes? Or is this a quiet change?

Yes, I did read over it. There is a very small section that I accidentally scrolled past.

    Daily Login Reward Timer Change
In this update, your new daily login rewards will start being available at 3am UTC for European servers and 10am UTC for North American servers, rather than at midnight UTC regardless of region.

    ^

    edit:
for NA 10 am UTC is equivalent to
    • 5 am eastern
    • 2 am pacific

daily login rewards usually also included the daily cp enlightenment as well

Actually, someone told me that the time of the daily renewal for CP enlightenment is based on when you first reached CP level on your account-- that is, you get enlightenment as soon as you hit CP level, and it renews every 24 hours after that.

For me, this is very close to the time when the dailies reset (6 AM UTC?), because I most likely first achieved CP-hood while turning in my daily crafting writs. However, on my main server (PC NA) my daily enlightenment renews not quite half an hour after the daily reset, because I was probably doing my next day's crafting writs right after the dailies reset. But on my alt server (PC EU) my enlightenment renews a couple of minutes before the dailies reset, because I was probably rushing to do my daily writs before the dailies reset.

i dont know if i ever heard that lol

my enlightenment has always reset exact to the minute of daily login rewards, so i assumed the 2 were tied together, i have not paid attention to my 2nd acct though, which ive had for 6 years but i made the acct after cp was already released

i should log that acct in to open the remaining like 40 some plunder skulls i still have on him this weekend lol

This was the most moronic thing ever. I logged on at 5:49 PM(central) and it's telling me 11 hours 9 minutes from now. Because I'm so going to be awake at 5 am.

....You don't have to be awake exactly at reset to claim your daily logon reward, you have 24 hours after it resets to claim it. You'll be ok.

It's now 5am my time (Central) instead of 7pm my time. This actually makes sense for me because now I will get my daily reward once a day...when I log in anytime during that day. So I approve.

Every 24 hours, you receive enough Enlightenment to earn one Champion Point at the rate of 100,000XP per Point; after your Enlightenment is used up, you will return to requiring 400,000XP to earn a Champion Point. The 24 hour timer starts when you log in with your first Veteran character or unlock the Champion System, whichever is first, and resets every 24 hours after it first starts. (...)

Not a big deal for me. I'm pretty adaptable.

Caveat: I'm retired, so honestly it doesn't matter what happens when, since I'm generally in game all day.

    Change is good!

    Except when it's bad!

All joking aside, the new times are okay with me, I guess. I would have preferred that both servers followed the same times, since I play on both PC NA and PC EU. It's going to be confusing to me to have PC EU change at 11 PM for my time zone, yet have PC NA change at 6 AM for my time zone.

However, I'll adapt to it-- because I must.

I too play on both PC servers. But then again I'm online in game about 7 am MST every day, so *shrug*. It's probably not going to bother me much.

It's great for West Coast who work the usual 9-5, it used to be at 4-5pm depending on Daylight Savings. Now you have better lenience on when to get on to pick up.

i always though the reset time for daily logins was dumb as it was right around sundown and was interfered with by so-called daylight savings. This is much nicer. Thank you ZOS!

I'm happy with the change. It used to be around 5/6pm (depending on DST) and it was quite annoying. If I logged in before supper one day.. but then after supper the next day - I would end up missing a day of rewards.

I play in the Pacific Timezone US, the old time was 4 or 5 PM depending on DST, so it was really easy to play in the morning, get involved with some other chores, hang out with friends, and have a busy next morning, and then log in in the afternoon and miss a day despite logging in every day.

With this change the login rewards will turn over very early morning for people who play locally to the servers, making it much hard to play every day and still miss a day.

Not really sure why people think that is a bad change, I guess resistance to change, since all the ones complaining about it in this thread don't give any reasoning.

Really good and thoughtful change. Thanks ZOS.

that makes more sense, i never read the forums much in 2015 lol

im guessing my enlightenment lining up with the daily login reward time to the second was probably cause i was playing before cp was implemented, but who knows lol

It is definitely tied to the first time getting CP. My enlightenment resets around 445 PM CT every day, which is nowhere close to any of the set reset times.

I can tell you why I think its a bad change. because its different times for different servers. maybe if you don't play on both servers, or your play times just happen to not be affected by this change - then it doesn't bother you. but for me, some of the time I would log in just after regular dailies reset and do my new endeavors as well as pick up daily rewards - at the same time for both my EU and US characters. it helped a lot when I knew I was going to have a long day ahead of me and will not be able to sit down to play until the day was over. now? I cannot do that anymore. because reset time for US is hours later now vs EU.

we have so many disparate reset timers already. why? WHY add even more to the confusion?

and to be clear. I do not care about specific time reset because 24 hours is 24 hours, I can adjust and so can everyone else - you have 24 hours to play between resets REGARDLESS of what time that reset happens. I DO however dislike strongly the fact that servers have DIFFERENT RESET TIMERS now.

for US only. it resets at a different time for EU and I'm sure they thought they were being helpful, but for those of us pkaying on both servers, they just made things more complicated.

As someone who plays both US and EU this SUCKS.

I tended to log in at midnight whenever they were gonna take the servers down because of how damn long server maintainance takes in this game. Now I can't do that. This is gonna result in so many missed days. Damn it.
