in pve i think most people still run 2h back bar because stampede base dmg is higher, so its not required to use the maelstrom 2h

some still use it though, but it doesnt add as much dmg as it used to

the maelstrom staff makes wall of elements slightly more viable, but i think its still less dmg than stampede + maelstrom 2h

wall of elements is around 1000 dps, maelstrom staff adds around 1330 more dmg to that, bringing it to around 2330 dps

stampede is around 2000 dmg by itself, the maelstrom dot is 7000 over 10 sec (+700 dps), putting this around 2700 dps total

the maelstrom 2h proc is also a sticky dot technically so even if the target jumps or runs out of the area they are still taking dmg
