Veteran difficulty for quests

Not sure if this is a way to give feedback to ZOS, but has anyone wanted a Veteran mode for questing?

Many people, myself included, realized that quests are simply too easy. Whether it's Zone, main quests, side quests, guild quests, etc. I know that quests are generally aimed for the casual players. But there are hardcore players that also enjoy great storytelling/lore as well as challenging solo content. It's just weird going up against a powerful necromancer who supposedly destroyed armies, only to be killed by me within 2 seconds of the fight.

Hopefully ZOS can add a Veteran option at the start of quests where players can decide if they want to do it on normal or Vet. Not sure if it's even possible for this game, but it doesn't hurt to let ZOS know.

Myself and many others agree with you that this game needs a veteran overland option. One of the devs in charge of the creative direction has basically dismissed the idea, but please show support by posting your feedback for the need to have a veteran overland option in this ZOS sanctioned pinned thread:

I like the existing overland/quest difficulty. When exploring, I prefer to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds, not fight overpowered wolves. Similarly when questing, I want to absorb the details of the quest itself rather than focusing on my own survival. When I want a white knuckle challenge, there are numerous places I know I can go to achieve that.

That said, I know many would prefer that overland/questing be harder. I've no problem with that if the operable word is optional - as it is in OPs suggestion.

Overland/questing presents foes at CP160. To make things more manageable for low level players, those players are buffed until they achieve CP160. That is, world/foes don't change, the player changes and mechanisms are already in place for that. Therefore I believe the simplest way for players to be able to optionally boost the difficulty of overland/questing would be an option the player could use to nerf themselves - effectively providing more challenge. Simple and pretty basic. The more aggressive approach of redoing the AI and mechanics of foes for a veteran option is, I should think, much harder and probably a bridge too far to expect.

    Hi there,

We are going to close this thread down because there is a thread already discussing overland difficulty. To keep all of the feedback consolidated into one place, you may continue the discussion here.

    Thank you for your understanding.
