It depends on how you build around it. I'd rather have a stam option, sure, but it worked out really well for my build tbh, getting a bit more stam out of my bursts but not loosing too much mag really helps my sustain.

But I can defintely see this as an impactful change for some mag builds, effectively draining your stamina faster.

It's the worst change in update 35 together with removing the stun for surprise attack and jabs animation.

Surprise attack change was good, actually made good stamblades more dangerous.
Jabs I agree was pretty bad

Like @Snamyap I'm okay with hybrid stuff to a point. But a dual source frequently cast spell is not good. My mages like having a 'stamina dump' that helps them (like vigor) and my bow warden uses the mag variant of shalks. With the right skill selections it can actually help sustain. I don't play MagDK but this does not sound like a good idea.

Neither stam/mag recovery nor maximum stam/mag stats have been hybridized on sets or potions or armor passives, etc. Which makes having a dual-resource spammable really out of sync with other hybrid changes. ZOS have been very clear and consistent that pure stats like crit chance and armor and weapon/spell damage are now hybrid. But resources themselves are not hybrid. It is an interesting but unsuccessful experiment that does not mesh at all with other hybrid changes. It actually kind of flies in the face of other hybrid changes.

Also, recent changes have been trying to reduce complexity of rotations. Longer lasting DoTs and buffs, fewer casts of them, fewer bar swaps which means ... more spammable. This might be OK in quick fights where burst and timing are important. But in prolonged fights, especially endgame PvE? No one can keep up that kind of drain on their non-primary resource with a spammable.

And if you attempt to build for more balanced max resources, like 20k of each instead of 30k of one and 10k of another, you gimp yourself. Your skills are now scaling off of a max value of 20k instead of 30k.

It's not cool to force people to change their builds because someone from ZOS headquarters thought it was a good idea to change the cost of a spammable to both stam and magicka... I don't want to keep changing my build every single patch over a horrible decision that ZOS did. It was fine the way it was before...

Sadly based on the wording I'm guessing those are both worthless in PvP.

I tested Undaunted Infiltrator + Unweaver. It procs Unweaver even when cast consecutively, so it's regarding this ability as a stam ability.

If it was a true stam ability it'd be poison/disease/bleed/physical based. likely an oversight by the balance team as it should proc both.

Just wait for the next expansion when break free will cost mana through a mythic.

In my opinion, the devs adding the possibility to do hybrid builds has basically forced everyone into it, whether they want to or not. Not sure how that is good for the game.
