You need the Vanilla.Comments.Edit permission to do that.

Does this mean the mod roles are flavor-coded, or only certain actions?

Oh. I was really hoping for Mint Chocolate Chip permissions.

I am a programmer, and yet those stops make it look like the error message is trying to be especially firm.

I'd take that over the ones my work computer keeps throwing up which is a seemingly random number you have to look up in a database, where it's only documented as "unspecified error".

Yes, but it still better than the "Error: No such error" message who is the same just sounding more stupid.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

"Something happened... something pretty bad. We aren't sure what it was, but your computer didn't handle it very well."

"9 out of 10 computers agree-- a booboo just happened."

Sorry, just some still-waking-up goofiness. :)

Whenever I get a Vanilla permissions error, it's usually because a thread got locked while I was composing a reply in it, or I got signed out of the forum for some reason (presumably due to something going on with Vanilla's servers), or my computer lost or dropped its WiFi connection for some reason (such as due to a weak connection and "roaming aggressiveness" being set back to "default" again after a major Windows update).

I just look at that and think of all the possibilities for a clever message that were missed. :disappointed:

One of the great things about being a developer is the ability to create messages in situations like that. And also, to change them once they are noticed by the Powers That Be.
