Why was fishing excluded on Explorer's Celebration?

Fishing is never included in any event. It really seems a missed opportunity on this one. Why is it so important to exclude fishing from Explorer's Celebration? I'm really curious.

Although Sammy is sympathetic, being an avid fisher himself, why we are not getting the double bonus fish for this mini event….2 -

Are you sure? I only remember a very boring fishing quest that is completely unrelated with fishing in the game. I've never seen anything on any event that motivates players to go fishing. Maybe I've miss something, but I never noticed it.1 -
