Only able to break free

So I found nothing to explain what to do outside of dropping group but this just happened to me in a Dread Cellar.
I forced a lock on a chest and then found myself unable to use any skills or attack. I could hold right and press left to 'break free' repeatedly, at a cost of stamina, but nothing else would work (even dodge). My keyboard and mouse were working fine when I tabbed out the game or when I used it to open a menu (I have open skills page on my mouse thumb control) but just stuck trying to break free.
Got myself killed on the next boss and still, nothing happened once rezzed. As SOON as I dropped the group, causing me to suffer the timer, I was able to act. Is there anything I could've done to not drop group and continue with the dungeon (similar to the bug where you're light attacking a thousand times a second for no damage animation bug)?

✭✭I've seen something similar happen in dungeons, trials, and even overland after U35 under several circumstances from being revived, to being knocked down or CC'd, using a wayshrine and so on. Reloading UI seems to fix it for me when it happens although if you're in the middle of a boss battle that might not be feasible.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭This happened to me with the final trash pull of vFH! Even tried death like you did to no avail. dmnqwk✭✭✭✭✭Both reloading and dying and being rezzed failed to fix it for me, which is obviously concerning when you consider that usually bugs get fixed like that by reloading.
Oh well, I guess it's probably just one of those things we have to get used to lol.0 -
NeuroticPixels✭✭✭✭✭This happens often to me, even not in a group. But roll dodging always fixes it for me. Kinda bummed that it didn’t work for you.

WraithShadow13✭✭✭✭I've been having this happen randomly, where i'm just completely locked out of any and all controls except movement. Instead of breakout, though, i have to roll dodge once or twice to clear it. On the off chance it doesn't work, i have to relog.
It's been pretty annoying.0
