Next year's Companions - speculation, and what would you like to see?

I'm guessing there are likely to be a couple of Companions with next year's content...

So. We've had a Dragonknight (Bastian), a Nightblade (Mirri), a Sorcerer (Ember) and a Templar (Isobel). Which suggests that we might get a Necromancer and a Warden next...

Also, we've had an Imperial, a Dunmer, a Khajiit, and a Breton, so we're likely to get different races...

And we always get one more "honourable" (Bastian, Isobel) and one more "dishonourable" (Mirri, Ember - although Mirri doesn't like you getting caught thieving, it's the getting caught she objects to, not the thieving.)

And we need to finally have a Companion that actually *likes* the Dark Brotherhood. Since Ember actually gets bonus rapport from doing Thief heists, why not a companion that gets bonus rapport from doing DB sacraments?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So... how about an Argonian Shadowscale worshipper of Sithis. Perhaps they could even be the necromancer-type since Argonians, like Dunmer, seem to have fewer scruples in that direction?
And perhaps pairing them up with something like a Bosmer Warden who is a Green Pact fanatic :-)
(Then we'd still have Redguards, Altmer, Orcs and Nords to go, and have to start either inventing classes or repeating them.)
    I mean, off the top of my head, and without being too specific, what I would like to see is...
    an Argonian Necromancer who has a past position with the Dark Brotherhood or Shadowscales.
    You gain rapport through using the blade of woe, they idolize you and want to better themselves if you tell them you're a Silencer. You only gain negative rapport if you use edicts in front of them to lower bounty, and through paying the fence or guards. Through their quests you learn they are struggling to reconnect with the hist, and you find you can have them either fill that void by connecting with you or you can help them along the spiritual path to reconnect to their Hist tree. Their story arc culminates in a request from their egg-sibling who is fighting to be chief of what's left of their clan, if you push them to voice support, the other chief candidate won't step down and it's a fight to the death.. You get to be the companion and enact a bloody massacre for the leader spot on their behalf, and the ghostly version of either their egg sibling or the opposing chief becomes a house item depending on your choice, and if you do the quest on different characters and get both you can put them near each other and have them argue in their afterlife.
    You also either get a Hist Tree home collectable or their hist tree/village as a home depending on your choices.
    A nord warden werewolf assassin. his "animal companion" line would be beast mode and if you slotted those skills he would transform into a werewolf in combat, you'd still have frosty warden and healer warden lines and you'd still have the weapon skills. Or maybe give him a separate werewolf skill instead like a racial skill that has a huge cool down like 5-10 minutes?
    A necromancer freed from cold harbor and bound to your will / forced into servitude. He would be the king of snark and disdain. I think it would be hilarious to have a follower who hates you but can't do anything about it.
    "A doe-eyed breton lass in the middle of a jungle filled with ravenous monsters want's you to find some ancient book that proves she's royalty...must be Tirdas." then when you find it "How much you want to bet it's missing three pages."
    Possible if the next chapter really takes place on the Telvanni Peninsula. I hope they'll abstain from a too cliché evil character, though. That might work in fairytales or children's movies, but otherwise it's silly. I could imagine a immoral scholarly type, however, ruthlessly breaking the taboo of disturbing the dead, which is especially strong in Dunmer society with their ancestral veneration.
    Quite the opposite with Dunmer, actually.
    Lady Laurent would be a funny one also, and she'd be the one thinking she's in charge and making discoveries while you're the one leading. Oh boy would this break older quests, and Stibbons's back.
    Yagrum Bagarn would be a great one as well. Just throwing it out there.
    This year we got Isobel & Ember. Last Year we got Bastian and Mirrii.
    I think that the cool idea for the next companions is to maybe (since we always get 2 of them) make companions to know each other plot wise ? So we could have companion quests to kinda go back & fourth between them.
    For example, imagine a story of Brother & Sister that escape from something and the player character needs to help them etc. It can be depended on the setting the next chapter will be.
    For example: An Argonian family (brother & sister) escaping from slavery & slave hunter who is chasing them and the companion quest would basically be to finally face the bad guy & defeat the evil slavers. This could also be an opportunity to introduce something different - for example you would have to increase the rapport on both companions to trigger the final quests, as it would affect them both.
    I suspect they will always have at least one human companion, so I am suspecting at least one redguard or nord.
    An argonian shadowscale (male) who uses necromancer abilities, a Dark Elf Warden (any gender), and a male high elf vampire who is an apraxic. The shadowscale and the apraxic either are encouraged by or don't care about bounties and other bad activity. Romance options added for some of the companions.
    I know this is a long way out, but when (maybe even if) we return to Elsweyr for the cities of Torval and Corinthe and the Tenmar jungles, I'd love to see an Alfiq and a Senche Raht as companions. The quests alongside Caska and Sereyne sold me on them as companions long before companions were a thing :tongue:
    Would take a bit of extra work though since motifs and costumes obviously won't be compatible, so they'd need to create a decent enough pool of unique costumes to collect for them through gameplay. And weapons are also not going to work, but I'd also be fine with them each having their own fixed "weapon" if, in exchange, they had four core skill lines each rather than three.
    For mounts, the alfiq would hop up with you when you mount up, and the senche-raht would be mountable.
    Necromancer and Warden are purchased classes, so it would be strange for a player to have access only via companions. But if they do, then Argonian and Bosmer respectively.
    Plenty of races, and despite what I just wrote about classes, there’s no reason for a companion to be a playable race, so Maormer, Dremora, Aureal, Mazken, and Clockwork automata need to be in the pool. They are all humanoid, making no new demands for animations.
    Two males seems likely, which might eliminate the Clockwork option, as all but the Precursor are nominally female. We have a very small sample size, but the one human, one other pattern could repeat, too.
    We have healer, tank, and magicka and stamina DD roles covered already, but several of the existing companions are capable of more than one role, so that will not be a factor.
    Is he on Nirn currently? Or is he still stuck in some Daedric dimension?
    Not all. While most are designed female (which has to do with them being based on Sotha Sil's sister), there are a few exceptions. Also, any soul, regardless of gender, can be trapped into a factotum's physical form (people normally go insane during that process, though).
    I mainly just want two male ones to balance out the two female ones from High Isle and want them to be well done and interesting characters, who are not just a walking trope or eyecandy.
    Though, an argonian would be nice, and having them being a Shadowscale is a great way to add a character who is positive about DB stuff, and also gives an opportunity for more Shadowscale lore.
    [Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!
    Male Dunmer, Altmer and Argonian would be nice. Female orc. Bosmer, Nord and Redguard no particular preference .
    Would like a companion open to anything, including dark brotherhood meaning that they would need to be a member. Somehow I feel the female Orc would work best but a lot of people seem to want an Argonian shadowscale for that and that would be OK too. What I'm really looking for is very interesting personalities for them all. I love Ember and they are all quite different and I'd like them to be diverse with strong differences.
    Ghastley, mentioned nonplayable races like Maormer too etc. Open to that too. I'd love a character like the woman who stands near Madam Whim (or the exact character) can't remember her name as my memory is awful but her skin is golden and she is not Madam Whim herself. The voice acting is amazing.
    I would be very disappointed and skip it entirely if necromancer companion would be argonian, the race always turned me off for how unattractive, unrealistic and cartoonish they look + their deep smoker voices sound so out of place.
    Ideally i hope for young male high elf necromancer with snobby, sarcastic and a bit cruel attitude. For warden, my pick would be between redguard and wood elf, i just hope they won’t make this companion as noble as other 3, something closer to Ember maybe who don’t mind stealing and killing.
    My guess is male argonian necromancer and male bosmer warden. This gives the 6 companions 3 of each gender, 2 humans/2 elves/2 beast races, and all 6 player classes.
    Also guessing they'll be duel wield and two handed by default, again filling the remaining ones from the 6 weapon types.
    Could be altmer/dunmer necro and argonian warden, but I feel like bosmer might be the one they go for as a warden, which leaves necro as argonian.
