Remember UI error during the Undaunted event?

I do. On console we were crippled the entire event with the short-term fix of mashing the A or X button 30-70 times every time we queued. Yet again another Undaunted event marred by a buggy group finder function. No comment at the time on any form of extending the event, or any recompense, which has regularly happened in the past. I guess we were just expected to suck it up and forget. Well many of us don't forget this and all the other little issues that get reported, it adds up to a fairly negative view of how the game is being managed. I had many aggrieved conversations about this nuisance with people during and after the event. In fact there's not a bit of content at the moment that I can engage in that doesn't present some kind of bug, besides the crown store.

ZOS eventually fixed the UI error after the event ended. And despite this we still get group finder bugs, with people getting kicked from group, showing as offline, or stuck in an old group.

I'm not really interested in hearing from those of you who never had any issues with the UI error. That's wonderful. The purpose of this post is as a reminder, to the player base not to forget how little thought was given to us during and after this buggy dungeon event, and to ZOS that negative sentiment is not a unique debuff. It most certainly stacks.

Ive played mmorpgs for well over 20 years, too many games to count. Ive seen the first versions of group finders all the way through until now. Games I played 10 years ago had it much more functional then eso. The way its coded is obviously sketchy at best and likely just good enough to "work".

I can go into detail about 10 different things I feel are issues with the group finder that should be fixed but we all know the jist of it and we all know its not going to change.

From personal experience; having a large sample size from one particular aspect and thats solo Qing for non daily dungeons. So heres the deal, im farming for whatever set solo Qing as a dps for a dungeon that isnt a part of the daily rotation, wait time is expected... but heres what seems to happen. Instead of placing me in the Q with people Qing for random dungeons it often seems to wait until another player Qs for the same dungeon I am to then pull in 2 other players.

How did i come to this conclusion? After waiting 5 minutes for a solo random Q ill Q for a specific dungeon right after my daily random is done and end up waiting 30 minutes many times, even longer. Now each time this happened I would get into said zone and let the group know i was farming so and so set. Basically everytime this happened another group member would also let us know they were farming so and so set. This tells me the group finder is waiting for other players to Q for the same zone which can take forever. It should instantly throw me into the mix of all Qs and have the first 3 players available run their random in whatever zone was Qed by the first player.

This has happened 25+ times this year. To me thats a large enough sample size to tell me this group finder has issues. Thats just one of many. The intent of the group finder should be to makes groups as quick as possible to reduce Q times.
