Please give in game Notification for Prologue quests

Please give a notification in game when a new Prologue quest is available. If it wasn't for a friend telling me that there was a new one available I would have missed it. He found out from the News section on the launcher but I find the print small and hard to read, and it doesn't stand out. Please consider notifying us in game.

Maybe they could have like an npc that tracks you down to tell you about it! 😉

I usually scroll through the Announcement screen to see if anything new is in-game after a Crown Store refresh.

They could let us know how long they've been looking for us, too. 😅

It only takes a minute or so to check under "Quest Starters - Prologue", in the Crown Store, to see if any new ones are available.

I tend to do that, just after collecting my Login rewards, in case I have missed the Announcement.

I found out during the Bethesda Legacy of the Bretons twitch stream, when Gina mentioned it, otherwise I would have noticed it in the CS eventually.

I abandon such quests as soon as I realize it's not part of my present progression, everything in in it's own time and space for me.

Or at least ask us if we know...

In any case, thanks to the OP - if it hadn't been for an idle moment perusing the forum while my character logs in I'd have missed it too.

    In answer to multiple posts:

My browser doesn't control the text size of the launcher. I can read it but with the text being so small it is more difficult and it doesn't stand out and catch my attention.

I don't watch streams or read every forum every day.

I also don't search the Crown Store regularly or have any idea when it will refresh.

A lot of players just play and don't do all these other things so it would be nice to have an in game notification when new Prologue quests are available. It would also be nice for event quests because I hear players asking all the time how they get the quest to start an event.

It is not intuitive to think to check multiple places to find quests that only happen once every few months.

Ah. For the launcher text if it really is too small (some days are worse for my eyes than others) I use the windows magnifying tool.

They should do the big window like for when an event is going live. You can't miss those.

Not sure how it works on consoles, but they do highlight the prolough as being available on my PC launcher:

I know they put this in the launcher, but it is stuck between things like a chapter on sale and the event. It doesn't stand out enough to catch everyone's eye and I think an in game notification would be nice. Especially when the quest is in the Crown Store in a subcategory.

yeah! send everyone a personalized mail even if they don't have the DLC inviting them to an event!

or better yet have a giant overlay saying there's an event going on when you log in and force people to close out of it!

Have a reminder every day when they collect their rewards too!

Also put a prologue tab in the crown store just in case!!!

Also, is there an in-game way to start this prologue quest? Like, you go and actually find Jakarn for the High Isle prologue because he's in a set location (or at least, a faction-specific location) and will hail you as you pass? Or, like Rogatus and Rogatina Cinna are each able to bring you the letters from Lyranth that set off the Blackwood and Deadlands prologues?

(Or, dare one say it, the dreaded Stuga who will track you down *anywhere* to foist Orsinium on you?)

You have to go to the Crown Store, look for Quest Starters, then the sub category for Prologue quests. But there has to be a reason to go looking for this quest in the first place... like a notification that a new Prologue quest is available... in game where most players will notice it.

I don't think it's unreasonable to just make a quick notification when logging in, like they already do for Events, etc.

Apparently from the starter zones (stonefalls etc) Davon Watch I assume

Can confirm that one of the Quest starting spots is next to the bank in Davon's Watch.

Please give a notification in game when a new Prologue quest is available. (...)
The announcements screen that appears right after you log in with a char on a server already displays this as other several pertinent info.

Do you skip/close the announcements screen without sliding its panels?

On console, a window sort of like that pops up when you log in and slowly scrolls through the various things on sale, and other event-related items, including the new story quest. I think you have to manually close it to get it to go away.

I didn't know there were other panels to slide to.

That's what I meant in my post in this thread.

Regarding the Crown Store refresh times, it is usually at 14:00 UTC (10:00 EDT) or during certain events (like QuakeCon) at 17:00 UTC (13:00 EDT). Most of the times, new items arrive on a Tuesday or Thursday, but since there have been a few 24-hour only offerings recently that could arrive unannounced on any day, I've been checking the Crown Store more often now.

Yeah, I just came upon it by accident while I was scrolling through the Crown Store for any new cosmetic stuff. Otherwise I wouldn't have know that it was available already. I did watch the livestream stuff too, but I guess I missed the part where they said that it was already there because it either wasn't communicated too clearly, like blink and you'll miss it, or I just wasn't paying attention all that much. Something much more clearer in the game that notifies you would be much better.
