How are you progressing, ingame?

I asked this question poorly in an earlier post, so I'm rephrasing it in a more focused way. I'm trying to figure out (because it's in the nature of men to compare these things, even if we're not consciously competing!) how other people are progressing through the game. Also because the other post opened my eyes to other play styles, and I might be interested in trying out some alternative ways of getting through the game... at least once I've done it my way, first! :D

If you type /played ingame, you can see how many hours you've put into each character.

On my main, I see:
You have played [name] for 8 days, 7 hours, 50 minutes, and 45 seconds

So, ~200 hours, level 32, or 6:15 per level. I've been actively resisting leveling because then you have to re-craft your armor, and I have a very completionist-explorer play-style: research and read everything, find every skyshard and chest, turn every map icon white, get every achievement, explore every corner, loot ALL THE THINGS, etc. It took me over two years to complete Skyrim, so I'm surprised to have got so close to completion of one story arc in just over a month. I worry I'm maybe rushing because I see people "ahead" of me, and am feeling competitive and rushed :( And also in the beta, there was always a sense of rush, and some of that has carried over.

On the alt for my group with my wife, which I play rather faster, but less often, I see:
You have played [name] for 1 day, 11 hours, 50 minutes, and 44 seconds

So, ~36 hours of play, level 15, or 3:12 per level. Mostly, we quest together, but a few of those hours are from standing in banks trading between each other for our crafting characters.

How are your main characters doing? How many hours have brought you what level?
What's your playstyle that gives you that sort of ratio?
Do you feel you've found your ideal playstyle, or are there other approaches you're interested in taking, later?

I think I play in a similar manner to you, I have a lvl 21 main that I try to complete all of an area with, at 4 days played now, and an alt I play with family at lvl 16 with 1.5 days played. Though I have put in a few hours of pvp on each of these characters just to see what it was all about. Not really trying to rush to completion.

    I have "5 days, 12 hours, 22 minutes" on my VR3 main.

I clear all the icons and quests I can find on the map, and collect all blacksmith, woodworking, cloth and alchemy materials I find in my way.

I don't collect provisioning materials anymore. They take far too many inventory space and I don't have enough recipes to use them.

It was taking me so much time managing my inventory and I was getting bored.

I hear you on that. I have six alts just for inventory management.
But, I confess I maybe slightly enjoy that...

I have about 6 days played at VR3. I've gotten quest and skyshard achievements for every zone I've been through so far, and I have 6 traits on 2 weapons and 4 medium armor pieces. I begin researching my 8th trait for axes in about a day, so hopefully I'll be one of the first people with the ability to craft one of the Guild set pieces.

The /played timer resets when you hit VR? :( That's a shame.

    No, it doesn't.

So I'm probably misunderstanding, then. Do you mean, you got to VR3 in 3 days, or that you got there 36 hours' play ago, but would rather not say what the previous time was? Or something else that I'm missing completely?

Also, grats on getting your 8th research soon! :) I've been researching breadth rather than depth, so most of mine are at about 4 traits... but I need to go find more woody things to research, I've run out!

My misreading, sorry - 6 days to VR3 is impressive! :D

    I'm at 3days and 13hours.
Been playing since the 2nd day of early start, highest level toon is currently 26. I spend most of my time questing and crafting. I try to clear every locale on the map before moving on, not crazy about completion with skyshards/chests etc but i like a finished map. I think a large portion of my time is actually spent gathering lol, the world is so plentiful with nodes every few feet it's "Oh! A flower!" "Oh! A rune and Beech!". I feel like I have ADD the whole time I play haha.

I don't have a ton of time to play between work and home life but I enjoy playing whenever I do log on. I've played very leisurely thus far but the slow pace has actually been nice.

I'm up to 6 days and 7 hours, VR1, I pretty much just play the game, go wherever the flow takes me, whether that be pvp with my guild, or pve questing. Not too worried about completing everything as I can always go back and get them, but not moving at a rushed pace either.

Played about two days, made it to level 17 :) Did not yet start a second char, but might do so as I need some additional bag space and I am unable to afford the upgrades or a horse ^^

I would assume I might hit 50 in July o:)

Main: 5 days, 1 hour, 44 minutes. Just hit level 40, with a more or less equal mix of story progression, completionism, and just general messing around "taking whatever feels like the most fun option at the time".

Sub: 11 hours, 33 minutes. Level 10 templar/healer with a vague goal of "support and help others". He's in the same faction as my main, so I can basically auto-pilot my way through the quests as needed.

I don't think so, because I think you gonna stay on the same level for weeks.

It took me from 2010 to 2014 to reach max level on Everquest 2.

I'm very patient. ;) Raising snakes does that to you.

I actually think leveling right now is a bit too fast as is. I'd be completely fine spending a year to reach level 50.

6 Days and 11 Hours to get my Nightblade to VR3. I'm a quest completionist - my eye twitches if I don't have a zone complete;p

I'm looking at going for Tamriel Hero - it's gonna be difficult and long, but I can't wait. I've enjoyed every moment of it :)
    Khajiit Nightblade - V6
    --The Brigade--
Biggest achievement so far - Veteran Area unlocked at 46

It's not playing for 6 days. It's 6 days /played. That means 6X24 hours of playtime. It's pretty normal for v3.

    Than I guess I"m just way slow - but that's OK :)
