Rush of Agony does not appear to work very well...

Topic. I was in Cyro testing this out....using Stampede (which procs Tormentor just fine for the taunt) as well as Rush of Agony on an enemy alliance Farm...I hit the stampede, charged in, and...nothing happened. No chains, no agony...nothin. This set doesn't seem to proc very well/often? Am I missing something? This was in Standard Cyro, not the campaign. Thank you.

You're not using Tormentor in PvP ... that was just an example ... right?

I've been hit with Rush of Agony from Ambush in the past, but now that you mention it, I vaguely remember there could be positional desync issues with that set. When I was hit, it was a gank while I was standing still on a flag.

One question is where and when does the pull get triggered. Worst case, the game is bugged and the pull applies at your starting location instead of your target location after having gap closed. Ambush is different in that it's a teleport. Like other gap closers it has a delay, but no travel time. This is all speculation on my part. I am not saying these things make any difference, I am only saying those are the kind of things one could look at and test. There is also the simple fact that PvPers move fast and plain positional desyncs are more common than in PvE.
PC EU: Magblade (PvP main), DK (PvE Tank), Sorc (PvP and PvE), Magden (PvE Healer), Magplar (PvP and PvE DD), Arcanist (PvE DD)
PC NA: Magblade (PvP and PvE every role)

I think I was...just for testing....but against the NPC's in Cyrodill. Again, this was against an alliance resource...and nobody was around. I was expecting a pull similar to Dark Convergence..and I've seen agony animation, but I don't think I saw it at all then. I'll test again..just to be sure thank you.

many of the resource npc's have pull immunity, especially the ones that sit on the flags, so rush doesn't work on them for the pull, the damage should still apply after the delay though which is harder to see as the visual for the damage is less visible than the pull.

I use the set on my stamden alongside stampede into carve and the DSA arena weapon for some nice AoE burst, and it works fine for me, just some of the npc's (on flags mostly) and CC immune players aren't affected by the pull from it.

Ah....ok...well shoot...I'd like to at least test the thing proper....Spellscar didn't seem the best area but I'll try it again thanks.

This is one of those things that those who simply compare the tooltips of DC and RoA (not referring to anyone in this thread, haha) don't understand - RoA is less reliable and more difficult to use (which is NOT to say that it is not a good set - it is, of course).

Likely due to de-syncs (but really, who even knows...) you will get wildly different pull radii from the set. Depending upon the whim of the server, sometimes you will get the full 10 meters but other times you will only get 5 or 6. Sometimes the enemies will be pulled in a tight stack on top of you (like DC) and sometimes they will only come to a lose stack about 2-4 meters offset from the center of the pull. It is basically RNG along several variables during any given stacking attempt.

I think that it's worth trying to get the set to work, depending upon what you're doing.

If you're wanting to use it for dungeons (which I am guessing due to also using Tormentor) then it is a nice set. And de-sync and such are less of an issue in dungeons due to the fewer number of players in the instance.

And if you happen to play Templar, you can use Explosive Charge to get an even larger taunted radius for Tormentor, it's 6 meters versus the 5 meters of Stampede.

Ah...yes thanks for that. Yes...this was solely for random normals...I was going to swap it out with DC since the cooldown on DC is kinda ridiculous. Eh...I'll give it one more go and see how it rolls.

if your using it for pve, then you also have to be aware that there are quite a few enemies which are straight up immune to cc, especially in dungeons

any of the "elite" mobs will be straight up immune to the CC

for pve a technically better pull set would probably be the vateshran 1h/shield, it has a wide area, and debuffs the mobs after the pull
    plays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities
