So um… I’ve been playing around with Oakensoul and a really nice QoL feature for it would be if it only disabled weapon switching when out of combat.
That way it would still lock you into a single bar build… but you could have a second setup you could go to without having to either re-assign skills while out of combat or unequip it to quickly change weapons and then re-equip it.
It already gives you any buffs you could pre-buff with using a non-combat skill pre-combat, and any I may be missing thinking of would give such a minor benefit for such a short duration that it wouldn’t really cause impactful power creep.
Thoughts?

Is "out of combat" a typo for "in combat"?

So you're saying, what if Oakensoul still allows you to bar swap out of combat, allowing you to keep something like a bow backbar equipped, in case you want to switch in between combat encounters, without having fiddle with your inventory and skill menu?
Not a bad idea. I like it! I hope something like that can be implemented.

Just out of curiosity, which “pre buffs” are you thinking of that would be available this way that wouldn’t either start combat, already be included in Oakensoul, or be a relatively short HoT at the start of the fight which would have no real impact overall?
Isn't that what the armory is for?
I don't think its a good idea, mostly because of the “stuck in combat” bug that has been around since launch.

I do this to switch from 2H to ranged bow bar.
Of course you have to think ahead as you still can have only one bar at a time.
