Well.... warden - which is my favorite - doesn't fit well in any of those niches really. So in this MMO, none of the above is my favorite though I have many characters in some of those slots.

In WoW my favorite class was Hunter, and the pets were much better at keeping aggro than my bears are here. In RIFT, my favorite class was Beastmaster; I've always preferred pet classes as I've always had garbage internet, and pets in most games are run server-side which helps mitigate my painful ping.

I almost always go for a bruiser type character, best ones are barbarian. A standard warrior like in wow works as well. I hate the knight theme where you are a typical good guy, a reason I don't like paladin type either.

In medieval fantasy, I strongly prefer being a magician. Otherwise, why bother?

In particular, I enjoy the real-world sport of fencing a lot more than I do online simulations of sword play. :) At least, I enjoy my memories of same; I'm probably too old and stiff to ever pursue it in real life again.

Yes, some of each (all of which I played in that game - except frost mage). I do love wardens!

      I dunno.

My warden in eso seems to fits nicely into the archer/ranger category to me.

I don't use bow/stealth in ESO. Too spoiled by that "stealth archer" setup I generally use in Skyrim. I really dislike bow in this game. My wardens are stam with DW or 2 hand, or Mag with inferno staves.

Ranger/Rogue would be the nearest fit for me, but that's two different options. I usually go for nature and/or pet themed classes if that's an option. For combat I prefer melee weapons with magic as a back-up and relying on stealth and movement rather than health or armour for defence - basically the idea that my character isn't there by the time the blow lands and ideally is behind the enemy stabbing them in the back.

In some games that works really well, in others it's a hybrid mess. Either way I have fun with it.

In ESO I obviously have a warden (using dual-wield/restro staff) but I also have a templar, from before warden was added to the game but who I still play frequently. That one is based on my usual TES character; dual-wield/bow, medium/light armour, with the templar skills as a substitute for my normal destruction and restoration magic. It's kind of funny because in Morrowind what I was trying to do was a hot mess which made the game harder than it needed to be, it's gotten gradually easier since then to the point where in ESO it's actually a sensible idea. Although the actual build is still not meta.

I usually go for various hybrids. Something mage-y + fighter/rogue/archer, priest+fighter/rogue, rogue+fighter, druids and so on

Which is probably why I like battle-mages in Elder Scrolls.
