Templar class abilities and killing critters

What Templar CLASS abilities will kill critters? Puncturing sweep/strike doesn't work, blazing spear and reflective light don't work, one targets the "enemy" one targets the ground and one targets "area". This has nothing to do with my question but I have prevent killing innocents off. By critters I mean lizards, felrunners, boars, etc., one hit critters that don't give exp. Can someone explain why those attacks don't work?

    Have you tried the Javelin?

The skills mentioned can hit multiple enemies and those don't work on critters. The skill has to be single target.

    Critters are not innocents.
Haven't played enough templar to give precise answer.

Most AoE attacks will ignore critters - you need to use skills that are only active on aiming a target.

Stampede for some reason has the annoying likeliness to target critters in lairs.
Try focused charge ? Backlash maybe ?
    Or just light attack...

Light attack? You don't even need skills to kill them. Let''s make things simple.

Like @CaptainVenom said above, light attacks are perfect. When this type of endeavor comes up, my elf uses light attacks to go bunny hunting. Bunnies because they are an important part of her ration crafting. And the guts help her fishing since fish is also an important part of her provisioning.

My elf goes out as a magplar when the endeavor is 'kill xx foes using class skills'. She goes out as an archer though when the endeavor is to 'kill xx foes using weapon skills'.

I think what the OP is referring to, is what is the templars go to spamable for clearing up trash. Prior to the last update, puncturing sweeps was the main spamable.

Now that this skill has been nerfed into the ground; from an unexperienced players perspective it may look like a skill meant to provide a DPS/Heal buff, depending on the morph used.

Each class skill line is supposed to have a spamable to help define the class. Templar is at the moment missing one. Closest I can think of is Javelins. but that was not its intended purpose either.

Purifying light is awesome to one shot critters with. I use it all the time for class skill endeavors.

I am referring to CLASS abilities, for endeavors. Light attacks are not class abilities. I am using javelin, it works, thanks for the info dojohoda, that's exactly what I was trying to figure out. Even abilities that say they're target is "target" but hit multiple targets don't work, has to be single target in behavior. Thanks again.

You know how many rats etc I have killed by accident while my opponents attack me, not stunned...Then Bastion reprimands me.
