So many toxic negativity people, do none of them doesn't know the effectiveness of a hand axe or hammer is to bash? To swing, not to stab? smh Apparently not due they want the animation revert back to the old animation.

While I did like the old flurry animation that stabs, it was a good animation for daggers & swords, but that's it, it was only accurate for the pointy tip weapons, not justice for the bonk & hack ones. As someone whose main character & some alts used the dagger models most, I'm actually happy for the new animation for it's now a more accurate animation for all one-handed dual wielded weapon types! Because let's be honest here, it was silly & inaccurate to see a axe & a hammer to be stabbing a enemy in the old flurry animation.

In the past, I recall, years from here some users asked the devs to change the flurry animation be also accurate friendly for hand axe & hammer one-hand weapon types as well. Not sure they still around, but their wishes seem has been granted now by the animation devs.

Main is Blue-Thuxis, a Argonian stamSorc, whose also is a werewolf! 2nd main, Cobalt-Thuxis, a Argonian stamArc, an identical twin sister to Blue-Thuxis, even is a werewolf as well! some alts:
Nirn-Scale Rajthux (Argonian, Templar), Ros-Ei Nature-Thuxis (Argonian, Warden), Crimson-Thuxis (Argonian, DK), Bone-Thuxis Tharn (Argonian, Necro) Why Bone-Thuxis has Tharn as a last name:
The siblings were separated at a young age due to a Dres slaver raid, Blue, Cobalt, Ros-Ei & their mother were able to escape, Crimson & Bone weren't that lucky. Crimson was later "rescued" by some Orcs that later ambushed the House Dres Dunmers, unfortunately one Dunmer remained & sadly successfully brought the young Bone-Thuxis to the Dres plantation. Later an Imperial, a Tharn, bought Bone at a auction & later told he was free, the young Argonian sadly had no idea where to go & doesn't know if his family was still alive, so the Tharn adopted him into House Tharn. This family of Argonians finally reunited years later.

Some ESO history: I originally started from PS4 NA during June 10, 2015, I did reached CP 810+ on there. I eventually kinda got tired of paying PS+, so during February 4, 2019 I started moving to PC NA. Also CP: 810+. Nowadays I play ESO PC mostly, while PS4 is dust.

Isn't it just a clobbed together animation out of some light attacks? Although yes, it fits axes and hammers more, it looks kinda strange and weak. Should have kept the original animation style for pointy weapons.

Also the sound, at least on the first two hits, seems off.

If it makes me toxic to not like it, wouldn't that make you toxic from my perspective, by not agreeing with me? Please stop abusing this word.

Stopped reading at "toxic". Such an overused word that people toss around too much. Make using the word "toxic" a bannable offence and see quality of the forums rise

I agree, they should've kept the original animation for the pointy weapons & this new one for the bash ones, though that would be a animation mess if a player has a dagger in one hand & a hatchet in the other. Though this just a presumption, the devs probably didn't want to waste a lot of time coding a whole 2nd new animation record just for the 2 bash weapons types for flurry, they would have separate each weapon type (& probably the same for each motif style mesh models depends how the file path are coded) for said two animations.

A better coding is to keep both animations, & allow the player to choose which animation they like, of their preferences, from the settings. Though that like other things, it could cause a bug in some way.

Also agree on that the sound does seems off.

I'm not abusing the word when most who are complaining I seen are in fact being toxic about it. I'm using it the correct way. You just don't want a change that's a better benefit combat fit for all the one-handed weapon types.

So you prefer the devs to revert back to the old animation, that's not a good animation fit for maces & axes to begin with?

Let's take the Swordthane Style axe for example:
    ON-icon-weapon-Axe-Sword_Thane.png
    pg6np2nwg7sn.png

From looking at it's mesh model design is it made to thrust? To stab? That the old flurry animation does? One probably can knock the wind out of someone/something (a bit dent a Dwarven construct) from the flat top & the blade top tip can do some damage. But overall, was it designed to thrust? Think.

Now don't get me wrong, I payed attention to the axes from the other styles like most got tips on top of their heads, but still, a axe isn't meant to be used to thrust. Same goes for the maces.

Against all expectations, I actually really like the new flurry animation for exactly the same reasons.

Flurry was one of the rare skills I never used on my DW chars because it looked so ridiculous. Besides the stabbing not working well with all weapon types, the character's arms were also held at a really wide angle, it looked really janky.

Besides me never using the skill before, I read so much about how the new animation was absolute trash that I didn't even check it out until last week. And.. unexpectedly I really liked it, to the point my DW redguard is now using it. I love how it resembles light attacks but faster while the character's body leans more into the swings. It looks absolutely kickass when weaving through a group of enemies. I hope they make more subtle reworks for some attacks for other weapon types too, as it fits the down to earth nature of the setting much better than the abundance of flashy stuff.
