Combat pets, non-combat pets, and companions. Other people's, not your own

    That's okay, though a bit overboard. I like seeing everyone's pets, though I know I'm a minority.

It's a toggle, so you don't have to enable the setting if you'd prefer to see it.

Oh, good. A toggle is great! Where did you find out about this?

I hope it's seperate toggles for each one. I like seeing the non-combat pets, but the constantly flapping twilight drives me mad and I'd love to be able to hide all of them.

    It's about damn time.

But really, I only care about the Twiglites, nothing else ever really bugged me.

    What about mounts?

Hiding combat pets I don't have a problem with, but if you can hide non-combat pets then what is the point of those?

I only want to be able to toggle the twilights. I love seeing people's non-combat pets.

I don't think it would include mounts. Although it would be pretty darn hilarious to watch people floating in the air riding nothing. :p

I kind of wish we could hide our own Combat Pets unless we were in Battle. That Matriarch really annoys me even when it is mine

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Aren't companions hidden in major towns anyway? I usually notice them disappearing when the player moves away from the wayshrine. Combat pets being hidden is something I can get behind - I unsummon mine in towns anyway, the bouncing and flapping is far too distracting. Not sure about hiding non combat pets, aren't they mainly made to show off to others?

Yes, companions are hidden in almost all cities unless you're grouped, then you see group members.

    Pets, and every other cosmetic....

None of these ever bugged me, but I'm glad there will be a setting so people will stop whining about it on the forums.

I want a setting that stops players from casting heals on me in town. Maybe next update?

Me too. I don't need to see my bear when I'm crafting and such, but it's not convenient to dismiss it when using a gamepad. If the game would hide it when I enter a town and bring it back when I leave, that would be great. However, if I get into combat in a town due to a quest, that bear better be active!

I will wait until they add the ability to hide all players. When I once again perform feats, others should not bother my eyes. The hero must be alone

I don't think you can hide non-combat pets and Companions.

The article in ZOS web names CLASS PETS only.

"...the ability to hide class pets in towns (no more bears crowding crafting stations!)..."

Heh... cute that they specifically cite "bears crowding crafting stations" when we all know it's the "blasted twilight wing flapping in front of the character whose outfit I'm trying to change!" that's the true fury-inducer...

Why specifying CLASS pets in the article then?

    Wonder who's right.

Guess we'll have to wait and see. But as long as I can get rid of the twilights I'm happy.

They not infrequently get details incomplete or actually wrong due to lack of proper fact-checking in news articles.

Nearly a year later now, the article on the Armory assistant still claims there are restrictions on his functionality in the middle of dungeons and trials. But he works without any restrictions (and has ever since being released on PTS) in all dungeons and in norm trials, so the article is clearly misleading. It caused very similar confusion to your point about pets when it was first released, and despite numerous attempts to notify community managers, the article has never been updated with the proper information.
