Help! How do you block someone on the forum?

There is this person herassing people in the forums, he is trying to force people to like everything what zos does.
And if your opinion is a little bit different like his, this person won't stop herassing you. He will also reply on everything you say until he has the last word trying to lure you out so he can report you.

How can i block this person?
That i can't see any of his messages or posts because it is very frustrating.

No problem. It should be noted that you can still see the person posted, and they can still see your posts, but their replies will be hidden from view.

Its not a full ignore. The forum will hide every post of theirs, but only like a minimize. You'll still see they've made a post and give you the option to view it.

This is what it looks like if someone is on ignore. The grayed out poster is someone I ignored for reasons I'm not getting into in this thread. They are automatically grayed out and I can't see their reply unless I expand it. You still see their name though (ETA: I censored it in red), so if you choose to expand it, you'll know with whom you're about to engage.

It's on such occasions as this that I wish we didn't have a "no name and shame" policy. Curiosity is getting the better of me! I can't say I've noticed any particularly obvious candidates recently, unlike a few years ago when to the best of my knowledge and recollection there was such a candidate..

There are a few posters, past and present, that follow me around and argue with everything I say. I don't put them on ignore because I know my curiosity would get the best of me and I'd open and read their posts anyway. I just don't take the bait.

Ignore should be ignore...if you did ignore someone you should not see any thread they create or any post replying to them above not seeing their post....like they don't exist.

That way you could make the forum as nice or toxic as you want. The same should apply in game...if you mute someone you can't see them or hear them in anything it makes the account invisible and muted.

I didn't know this either, I just used it on whom I'm guessing the OP was referring to.
First time on this forums I felt someone was being nasty and bullying, and getting away with it due to his agenda

Thank you. I sometimes wish this forum allowed awards on posts, and this is one of those times.
(I also really appreciate your story-dungeon thread. I don't think I've ever commented there, as I mostly lurked when it started up, but fwiw it's a treasure)

edited because I somehow quoted the wrong post at first? idek x.x

Thus describes why I never use ignore any one any where. ANd then I drive myself crazy not responding.

Yes, does not seem like a forum issue. Maybe the question "how do I block someone". I haven't really come across the behavior the OP described. I have seen disagreements. Also, mods exist to keep us all in check and are in the best place to make calls on this sort of thing. If they saw this behavior I suspect they would be all over it like a cheap suit. "Bashing" "Baiting" are not allowed.
