So how does going through the different faction quests work?

I read today that you do your main faction quest from 1-50, then move clockwise to teh next faction for VR1-5, then finally to the last faction for VR6-10.
Is this correct? After starting a zillion or so alts I've realized that while I quite enjoy the quests for AD and EP, I'm not really a fan of the Daggerfall storyline, so I don't particularly want to spend my last few levels grinding through those quests.
Also, related question, does your faction change when you start the new zones? Ie If I'm AD from 1-50, am I considered a Daggerfall player as far as PVP goes when I start running quests in their zones?

✭✭✭✭✭Your actual alliance doesn't change when you go into VR content. You'll still PvP as your chosen alliance.
And I know that AD finishes with the DC storyline for VR5-10. So... enjoy?----
