Falsely accused of cheating and reported...what the heck?

Had what I thought was a normal game where I won, I think it was like 44-25. Wasn't even an Orgnums deck duel.

I start getting messages from them, saying the game was unfair, though they had no proof. I told them I wasn't going to argue with a sore loser, and good luck with their next game. They proceed to tell me they were going to report me to be happy for the night.

I've maxed out ToT, gotten every title, I'm a fairly competent player. I don't want to, have a need to, or a desire to ever cheat. I told them we literally both use the same cards, what was he thinking? And they stopped responding.

Is this common? Can you even cheat? What the heck kind of player did I run into???

According to one of the devs, everything in the game is logged, so I assume that includes which cards you get dealt in ToT, which cards you play, which cards you buy, and the same with regard to your opponent. So even if your opponent reports you for cheating at ToT, ZOS should be able to examine the logs to see what happened-- including (I assume) what the two of you whispered to each other. So if you didn't cheat, and if the other person basically told you they were going to report you out of spite ("to be happy for the night"), I imagine it might go worse for them than for you, since I doubt that ZOS looks kindly upon players who use the reporting system to harass other players.

Just a salty fella, you will find people like him in any game with even the slightest hint on being competitive.

Thank you, I'm just so stunned. I've had a few people whisper GG, be respectful, even made a few new friends through ToT. I guess it just never occurred to me that someone could be this toxic over a game so fun.

People can fill out a report, even without any evidence or proof. It's up to ZOS to determine if there was any wrong doing. I want to assume that they would at least look into a report like that before slapping a punishment on you.

Some people may not understand how Tribute works. It's similar to pvp in that sense. You see something you don't understand and jump to the conclusion that it must be cheating. From their limited point of view, you were cheating as you did something they weren't aware of. Rather than attempting to figure out what that was, the assumption of cheating becomes the primary reasoning for them.

There's been one player in PC NA ranked who pretty much calls everyone a cheater, the funny thing is that they're not a terrible player themselves so I think it's just a coping mechanism. Said player is a regular on EP Gray Host as well if that rings any bells.

It is sad that people resort to such actions because they lost. I feel sorry for them as it is likely a sign that they have some serious issues in real life.
