Buggy quick-completing daily quests on PC EU?

Last night I was in Imperial City doing the district dailies and the quest in Memorial District seemed to complete itself before I actually completed it. Specifically, I killed 2 xivkin and was riding around the central area on my mount trying to activate the 4 skeletons, but as soon as I activated the 2nd skeleton it acted like I'd just activated the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th skeletons in rapid succession, even though I hadn't gotten anywhere near the 3rd and 4th skeletons yet.

Then tonight I was doing the Dastardly Duo daily in Northern Elsweyr. I'd destroyed 2 crates and was fighting the 2 bosses. As soon as I killed Zav'i, a message popped up saying that I'd just killed the 2 bosses and Akumjhargo just disappeared, even though I think he'd still had about half of his health. Normally he goes berserk after I kill Zav'i, but he literally faded out while whirling around.

I stuck around while writing thus post, and after they respawned I crept up to where I could read their names so I could spell them correctly in my post, and another player came up and aggroed them, so I started fighting them again. After I killed Zav'i, the same thing happened again-- Akumjhargo just faded out while whirling around, even though it looked like he still had maybe 1/5th or 1/6th of his health left.

Has there been a change to those quests, or was this some kind of bug?

I've not experienced the memorial District quest bug, but I have experienced the dastardly due one like you described it,and I didn't get any boss loot, since it just faded away. It was during the anniversary event, and I really cannot remember if it still counted as a completed quest, or if I had to give it up.

The vanishing boss is an old issue that keeps happening every now and then with dungeon bosses, ive never witnessed it happening with a world boss, but its probably the same problem.
The boss get resetted, it does not count as being defeated when it happens.

For the first issue are you sure you werent grouped?

No, I definitely wasn't grouped in Imperial City when it happened. I very rarely group up with anyone in IC, especially when I'm there to do the district dailies, because I have my own approach to doing them which seems to be different than the way other players like to do them, so being grouped actually gets in the way of how I like to do them.

I'd noticed something similar a number of times before in the Memorial District, except it always happened after I activated the 3rd skeleton, at which point I would get credit for the 4th skeleton as well. Then one night I was checking the UESP wiki and noticed that it said 3 skeletons, not 4, so I figured it was okay-- but I'm pretty sure that sometimes I'd still need to activate all 4 individually to get quest completion. Well, I just checked the UESP wiki again to verify that it said 3 skeletons, and now it says "Plant charged geodes on two Skeletal Laborers." I guess the required number of skeletons has been reduced (again?) in a recent update, but I never got the memo as they say-- or more correctly, I got the memo but didn't read it!

As far as the Dastardly Duo bosses in Northern Elsweyr, it was as though Akumjhargo were simply an add summoned by Zav'i, such that killing Zav'i caused him to despawn. I should probably go read through the patch notes from recent updates to see if there was anything mentioned about this quest, because I'm starting to think it was a change to the quest rather than a bug.

I just did the Memorial District daily on PC NA and I needed to put auricular geodes in all 4 skeletal laborers, so I'm not sure what determines whether one needs ro put them in 2, 3, or 4 skeletal laborers to complete the quest. I'm assuming there must be some condition that determines it, since the actual number seems to vary and the UESP wiki now says 2.

The world boss in Northern Elsweyr has definitely changed, although I don't know whether it was intended or not. It doesn't matter which boss you kill first, Zav'i or Akumjhargo-- the other one will despawn some seconds later regardless of how much health it has. If you want to actually kill both bosses, you must alternate between them to try to whittle them down together as evenly as possible, then try to kill the second one at the same time as, or very quickly after, the first one.

As for the Memorial District daily in the Imperial City, I think I figured out what happens, and I assume it's a bug. I don't want to exploit it, so now I'm very careful to avoid triggering it, because I actually enjoy having to plant charged geodes in all 4 of the Skeletal Workers. As it is, I can usually complete that daily in 5 minutes or less, so it's not like I need to shorten that time at all since it's already short enough.

It's September, and the same thing has happened to me when I've done them for the dailies. The same thing happens if you kill Akumijhargo first. Zav'i just disappears.

It's kind of aggravating, because there's no overland set piece that drops from this fight now, so nothing to possibly DE into shimmering sand for furnishings. I'm guessing it's a bug for this reason.

Yes, it happens to me all the time on this boss, on both servers. It's virtually impossible to kill both bosses before one or the other despawns after the first one has been killed.
