Smaller Two Handed Swords?

I am playing a wood elf, and love every weapon I have found in this game so far except for greatswords. I understand this is how a huge weapon is suppose to be wielded. But is there any sword and a half (bastar.d swords) in this game as well? I am not fond of greatswords for my ranger style class. I do not care for shields or dual wielding either. I was wanting a single sword not a big as a greatsword (like Aragorn would use in LOTR). My question is: Are there any smaller swords with smaller hilt/handles as I advance in level? Or am I forced to two hand with the huge greatsword that does not fit my ranger build?

I haven't looked at greatswords - as in haven't actually equipped one yet. But I did notice that the Nord style staff I made my Altmer hasn't scaled to size (no complaints) and actually looks a bit silly on her, despite her being reasonably tall. I wonder if you chose a style of one of the smaller races, or better yet the smallest (Bosmer), would you end up nearer the result you want to achieve?

Edit: I just noticed you play a Wood Elf, so you probably have wielded the greatsword for your race.

Yeah the racial styles do not seem to hold and size different. Nord is the same size as wood elf for me.

No *** swords, not all that great swords, or even pretty good swords that I'm aware of. However, you can dual wield long swords or daggers, sounds like that might be right up your alley.

No I did not want to dual wield or use a great sword. More along the lines of a smaller two handed weapon to compliment the mix of spells and melee lol. In Skyrim I always ran a large one hand sword in one hand and lightning spell in the other. In this game my build was (in my mind, lol) a *** sword main with a few spells and a bow secondary.

Being forced to use only greatswords for two handed swords really sucks for me in this game...

I am shocked Zeminax only made massive greatswords. I expected them to be present, yes, but to also have smaller two handed swords. This has been bothering me for 2 weeks now lol. To the point I wont renew my subscription

because my visualozed chatacer that I used in skyrim just can not happen for me. I down right hate using any greatsword I have found in this game. So very disappointed. I wanted my ranger style dunmer to have a sword like they offer in Skyrim. Not these massive hilt greatswords. They just do not fit my character.

If no one else has found a smaller greatsword with a smaller hilt maybe I will just not renew and hope they add it in some day. For now I just can not get into my character.

I don't know what you expect. A great sword is a BIG sword, that's why it necessitates 2 hands. The sword you wielded in Skyrim wasn't a two hander anyway, plus, this isn't Skyrim.

Use a one bladed two handed axe. those appear to be quite smaller than one would think. They look like they could be two or one and a half handed.

Only option is just to use one handed sword in one hand and leave the other unarmed.

I tried this but the problem is no weapon skills or passives since it is not 2h, not DW, and not sword n board. SO I lose many passives and actives with just ONE weapon in hand. I was VERY surprised that there was no options for people who prefer just one sword in this game lol.
