Ok I thought I'd have no interest in the card game but it turns out to be quite entertaining. Tossing that aside does anyone else find it annoying that both of these deck colors are exactly the same design and color except for the deck type icon on the upper right? This causes you to have to look at each card to see if you have a match. It seems like a glaring oversight in the game design, there ARE other colors to chose from than both red after all.

I do see them as different colors. The Rahjiin deck is more of a rust color, while Pelin is a dark red.

But I completely agree that the colors of the decks are very close to one another and for players with a sight defect or perhaps even playing on lower graphics might not be able to distinguish between them easily.

I don't think they're the exact same color, as I believe Saint Pelin is more of a true red while Rahjin is more maroon-ish, if I'm remembering correctly. But I agree, it'd be pretty easy to do a much better job of differentiating them.

You get used to the card art after a while as well, which helps, but it's not like this isn't an easy fix.

Rajhin is orange, pelin is red.. You may have a small amt of color blindness if they look exactly the same too you.

Must be my eyes I'm an old fart. Still you'd think just for creativities sake, as a game design you'd want each deck to stand out totally separate color wise.

They are definitely really similar and I left feedback for this during the PTS, and others did too. Hopefully they just didn't notice instead of don't care

Yep. It was annoying and confusing at first, but now Rajhin deck for me is "the one with the kitties on it."

Yep, it would have been nice if they used the primary and secondary colors along with white and black, however, it would probably require too much work for them to change it now.

I agree. When will they change color? Just need to make it bright orange.

The palette of armour dyes shows that colours that might not instantly be distinguished don't need to be used. If you are playing a lot of games every day, there's probably several other hints you are picking up and using to plan your next move while monitoring what your opponent is doing.

So long as the suite icon gets covered for the cards in your hand, colour should clearly delineate which suites you are holding.

If you have a display with weird color settings they can look identical.

I use a 2 display PC setup and on my main one they look different, on the 2nd monitor they are pretty much identical in color. You could try taking a look at your display color settings.

I'm curious why they didn't go with accent colours for all decks. That is, a secondary colour specifically to differentiate the decks. That way any overlap wouldn't matter. I mean, look at the abundance of sports teams with similar colours that manage to distinguish themselves.

I believe they intend to introduce further decks in the future, so this issue will only be compounded.

I know we have an orange-yellow deck, but maybe change “Rajhin, the Purring Liar” to a (warm) sand beige color?

I agree, the Rajhin deck would look better if it had a slightly more orange-y hue. It's too easy to get cards mixed up at the moment.

I'm not colorblind but I still have trouble telling the Pelin and Rajhin decks apart. There is only a slight shade difference between the two.

It would help if they moved the patron pip to the left side of the card as others have suggested.

Must be my eyes I'm an old fart. Still you'd think just for creativities sake, as a game design you'd want each deck to stand out totally separate color wise.

Could be your monitor too, or its settings.

I see them as different shades of red (Rajhin is more rusty red to me than orange), but they are closer than they could be. I do have my monitor shifted toward the red end of the spectrum to avoid eye strain and sleep cycle disruption, though. I'd favor shifting the Rajhin deck towards a truer or brighter orange. Or maybe they could have made it yellow, which isn't used in by any of the other decks. I've gotten to where I recognize the individual cards, though, so I find it less confusing when both decks are in play in a game.

Except the Hlalu deck is gold, which is too close to yellow. We have two shades of blue too, but I have less trouble telling them apart.

    Maybe Rahjiin could be pink?

I have good colourvision and from experience of first 2 npc games in ToT questline (including the first short game) the card game design is rather drab and different decks can have colours rather close each other. Enough to make it even more confusing for someone who has never had any interest to card games beyond standard 52 card deck. If the low contrast and saturation is an attempt to reduce eye strain it definitely does not work for me.

Came to the ToT forum section for the first time just now to see if I am not the only one with this issue. I can see a clear difference for the background of the patron buttons on the right but the cards are very hard to tell apart. I use my tv as a monitor, sitting ~2m away from it.

Rahjin and St Pelin are too close. Hlaallu and the treasury cards are too close. While the Psijic and Seablob colors are both blue and can be differentiated at a glance, why did they both have to be blue? Got green and black. There could be a lot of different colors to choose from, why make any of them even relatively close? Also, since Update 35 hit consoles, the washed out look of the cards are not good. They all even look more alike now. It is not good graphic design.
