It really depends on the dungeon/trial and fight. Sometimes you want ranged weapons (e.g. Asylum Sanctorium) while other times you can stand in melee and just parse. Similarly in some boss fights you might be given either an assigned melee or ranged position and you need your gear accordingly.
Assuming you can be in melee range most of the time and parse on the boss, dual wield front bar and greatsword backbar does some of the best damage for boss fights. Infernos with flame pulsar pull great numbers in AOE/trash fights.

I have hardcore procrastinated dealing with skill and CP resets on my chars. Only one in fighting order is my casual overland 2h/bow stamsorc in overland gear.
It is really strange, because it is my second/third favorite weapon. It is not really so bad, that 0% ... it is better than lightning staffs now any way. I thought at least 7-10% will be bow.
But 40% for duals is unexpected too. I think
that it would be about 30-33%
Hard to know what you mean by best. My preference has always been fire staff.
DW/2H is pretty much meta on every class for humping a dummy or on any trial fight where melee is possible. You can usually swap in an inferno front bar without too much DPS loss in most content, and if the fight requires movement, inferno can pull ahead.
The biggest issue we have right now is that 2H back bar is too strong (or inferno and bow are too weak).
I swear I never see other people spamming wrecking blow, but when you weave that sucker with LA it just packs... well a wrecking blow (even more before U35, but whatever). You get a super fast little double bounce when it hits: "ding ding" that is the perfect LA weave. I try and try but just can't do as much damage with other weapons to the point where all my stam chars are 2H now! lol
The problem I have with staves and bows is that the base damage of these weapons are lower than DW and 2H. Yet like DW and 2H they both require 2 hands. Both of these weapons base damage should match that of DW and 2H. Instead the base damage is that of a 1h weapon. As for abilities, if the ability is 15m or less in range it should do more damage than abilities that have a range of 28m. If the devs gave staves and bows an increase in base damage than I would be selecting staves over DW or 2H.

I only play Bow/Bow anymore, but any time someone asks me this question I just pitch whatever other people say is meta since they probably won’t like the bow/bow performance anyway.
Can bow/bow demolish trash mobs and bosses in seconds? Absolutely, but so few ever enjoy it, or they just can’t make it work. Hawkeye requires good weaving and most people don’t like the slow-channel spammable, and the new bow/bow players tend to stand far away from all the buffs and heals after they read about Long Shots

It honestly depends on the build, but for me it's 2h, I prefer to use dual wield but I like the buffs that 2h can give in rally and passive when u feel like "cheating" my rotation
