Taking a break from ToT until the update

I started off pretty shaky but then started understanding the game a lot better and was winning more than I was losing. But now that I have reached rank 8 I only win 1 out of every 3 or 4 games, if that. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I need to step back and wait for the changes with the update and see if that helps. It's just too frustrating to be fun right now.

It was a lot more fun when I was lower rank.

I’m on a 15 game losing streak. People are just really good at the game now. Hang in there you’ll get back to winning. : )

Lost all 5 of my placement matches this season. Where first 2 seasons I won at least 3 placement games.

One interesting thing that I think I noticed, and why I decided to not stop playing the Player v Player aspect of the game:

I think the card clues only drop from the purple level reward boxes you get by going up a tier in the competitive mode. Or at least tied to the competitive rankings in some way.

I think, but probably not actually true.

But, as a reference, while I was working my way to Rubedite the first time, I dropped quite a few clues. And the same the second time. But the moment I hit Rubedite, I did not get a single clue drop the entire time, from any box.

Cut to last night after the monthly reset. I do my first rank up to get the first box of the new month competition rankings and it drops a clue.

So, I will continue to play out the season up until rubedite to see if any more clues drop. Still need like 5 of them.

I’ve gotten clues from green boxes.

I must just be incredibly unlucky. And the 1 drop I finally got after 3 weeks was just really timely.

If I happen to get another drop while I work my way to rubedite this month, I will post it here.

I've gotten clues from non-purple bags, and also purple bags can be obtained from winning your first match of the day :) can be casual. No competitive ranked gameplay required.

I'm not quitting, just taking a break from the ranked games to evaluate how I am playing. I did play a couple of guildies today and won a couple of games and I think I may have an idea what I'm doing wrong. But I'm not going to say what that is. :hushed:

Well I managed to stay away from ranked games for awhile but they lured me back in. I definitely have a love/hate relationship with this game.

As other have said, the clues drop from green boxes too, it's just once you level up clues drop less and less.
Once I started playing ToT I got card clues every 5 to 10 matches, reached rank 8 since a few weeks and now I get one clue a week if lucky playing between 35 to 40 matches a week.

I am just missing the clues to get the dye and Houseguest achievement but it is so damn frustrating that I will probably give up at some point. I can understand that it should take some time to complete all achievements but this is getting ridiculous, I played each day since launch and still missing many clues.

I'm in the same boat. Today I got all the way to rank 8 and won the Orc founder's deck fragment for good measure. But oh my, how much I had to lose for that! At the end I was winning only 1 of 3 or at most 2 of 5 of the matches played. Some of the losses were to obvious things to avoid like leaving the additional patron card in tavern for the opponent when they already had turned two of them.

So at least for me it's sheer over-exposure. I find that I win the first matches with the highest probability, and after that the rate drops. After some repeats the game gets too routine, and one's attention flags. After all, I've played dozens of matches during the weekend.

I love ToT, but too much is too much. Now that I'm on the top rank, I'm not going to play any more than a match or two a day. Making it an adventure by hunting the founders helped only by the in-game hints should be enough to make ToT feel fresher. The same thing with the card clues, and it's a nice break from just playing ToT all the time.

(And please, don't write in this thread where exactly to find the founders. I've learned my lesson not to spoil myself too soon about things like this.)

Wanted to follow up on my experience with these.

Since my last post, I had to have opened 15 or so boxes per day. None of which were the Purple ones.

So, close to 300 boxes, with only 1 clue left to drop. And nothing.

Then, last night, I did the PVP daily to get the purple box. And bam, the last clue dropped.

So, back to back clues dropped from purple boxes for me, weeks apart, after 100s of boxes worth of failure.

Mh, I hoped that Orgnum patron was adapted with the patch but it was not. This is sad.

I don't see many choosing Orgnum any more and even fewer choosing Rajhin. Neither makes for a fun or exciting game in their current states. It would be nice to see them tweaked enough to have to do more than spam their Patrons.

I actually like Rajhin alot, but not for the Patron effect. I use it as an opponent card discard and gold generating deck. Really compliments well with the Crow deck.

I've never liked this deck mainly because it makes for a long boring tedious game.
