[idea] New weapon, the scepter.

livernoistristanb16_ESO
Honestly I find that ESO is starting to be redundant with always the same weapon mechanics. So still seeing shield sword - dual weapons - two handed weapons. I saw both types of staff and remembered my character from skyrim.
In skyrim the staff was held in one hand with another staff and a shield. So that gave me an idea, the scepter.

Scepter/shield
The character would be more of a tank or even a defensive healer focused on barrier magic.

Double scepter.
here it is not a question of defense but above all of control, a style that I find is quite lacking in ESO. The skills would be, like the nightblade before its redesign, debuff/buff. The character would have the ability to "steal" stats from the enemy to give it to his team.

While I definitely like the idea of scepter compared to adding new classes, I feel there are already some balance issues with existing weapons that should be addressed. (Such as 1h costing 8 upgrade materials, which is the same as 2h, in my opinion they should cost 4).
    PvP needs more love.

    Scepter/Shield

    1) The first skill would have the ability to provoke the enemy. Additionally the tank could get a barrier to protect itself from hits proportional to max life.

    2) The second skill could be a reduction like "minor protection".

    3) The third could be a paralyze the enemy or a stun, something to keep them from moving.

    4) An ability to protect his allies, a sacrifice of his own barrier could increase the size of the protection of the ally barrier.

    5) A damage intercept, a debuff placed on the enemy that redirects all damage they do back to the tank.

    just an idea of skills

Love the idea of new weapons and abilities!

    Help - Isn't a scepter a mace?

I think of something royalty would have, not a weapon.

Of other historical weapons that seem to be popular that are missing...

Crossbow - more range, damage, much slower firing rate
Spear - can be thrown or used two handed - range but bad in small places, let play pole vault away?
Flail - a good bash and maybe the ability to entangle an opponent
and of course - bare hand brawling/martial arts - new skill - head butt! But chance to stun oneself?

Yes, tons of other weapons in the family - halberd (spear), atlatl (bow), or bash weapon (flail)

    Thotz?

The Deadlands DLC would have been the perfect setting to introduce Daedric Crescents in my opinion. Dregas Volar even appears at Dolmens sometimes with daggers which resemble crescents, and there should be some around since they weren't mostly destroyed until the 3rd era I think. One could argue that they weren't invented till after the events of ESO but feels like a wasted opportunity honestly.
