What is your crit rating? I soloed Voidmother WB in The Reach easily enough last night with crit surge and a couple of wards the few time i dropped low. I'm running Mother Sorrow crit set ofcourse and a few dots.
Honestly i think crit surge is a super OP ability. 4 years ago when my main stamblade was struggling in vet Maelstrom Arena, swapping to magsorc with crit surge and no pets was how i easily got my first flawless run.

-2015 Direct heavy nerfs after a 3 or so week meta caused by zos over tuning frags and vipers sting.
-2018 Summerset introduces the Sload's Semblence set, a set that had as much burst damage as U34 caluurions but dealt oblivion damage so it ignored all damage shields and could not be dodged or blocked as it was an instant proc. designed specifically to counter shield stacking sorcs.

-late 2018 Sloads changed to DoT and damage reduced,
-2018-2019 the formula used for dealing damage and healing changes to favor raw weapon/spell damage much more than max stats. shields not changed to match this new formula and dark deal/dark conversion remained a flat heal that doesn't scale off these stats.
-2019, pet damage reduced considerably. daedric prey also reduced from 55% to 40% additional damage dealt by pets.
-Mid-Late 2019 fatigue mechanic added to streak but not added to other class mitigation abilities such as cloak, wings, etc.
-2020 crystal blast is removed and replaced with the underwhelming crystal weapon morph.
-Early 2021, CP 2.0 is introduced, giving us the celerity cp on top of the speed cp in the crafting tree meaning all classes now easily hit the speed cap nullifying sorcs most vital defensive option in mobility.
2021 daedric prey also reduced from 40% bonus damage by pets to 20%
-Sorc remains mediocre in pvp outside of being a negate/healbot for group play until late 2021 into early 2022 where the combination of a rework (buff) to crystal weapon as well as a broken set like savage werewolf (works at range but only supposed to work at melee) becomes popularised on a playable bowsorc build.
-Mid 2022 crystal weapon becomes the best morph for both mag and stam with the reduction of frags proc change and slow travel time of the skill making it super easy to avoid.
-Current patch, U35, the entire remaining class skills that are usable (even if only for meme builds) gets completely gutted into oblivion because of a broken set and 1 single over tuned ability with only 1 class skill now worth slotting (and that's only reliable outside of lag, so it's only good on PC NA servers). PVE side is no better, the only buff was to daedric prey which is rendered mute due to the heavy nerfs to pet damage over the years meaning that pets deal similar damage to U34 pets, but only if daedric prey is on the target (which can only be on 1 target at a time btw).
It would be nice if the devs actually played the class instead of only playing nb and dk. That way they could finally see just how bad of a state the class is in now.
Sorc has always been a really fun, fast paced and rewarding class. It was always fun to play, but hard to master, especially in pvp, but for those who put the time and effort into mastering it, it was a very strong class. Now, even those who have mastered the class are saying it is pure garbage, all thanks to zos listening to the toxic casuals constantly screaming to nerf this once super fun class just because they can't be bothered to put the time and effort into mastering the class (or how to counter it) themselves.
The entire class kit needs a complete rework from the ground up in U36. I'm talking scaling shields and heals off damage like other classes defensive abilities, make dark deal/conversion instant cast again, reliable instant class spammable, pets reworked to only require 1 bar slot, proper heal over time that doesn't require damage to be dealt, cohesion between class passives and active abilities, more reliable burst, etc.
